Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this fella, Yasiel Puig. They say he’s worth a whole heap of money, like $18 million. That’s a lot of greenbacks, ain’t it? I ain’t never seen that much money in my whole life, I tell ya.
Now, they call him “The Wild Horse,” or somethin’ like that. Guess he’s a baseball player. Plays for the Dodgers, they say. And some other teams too, like in Mexico and Korea, I think. Heard he’s been hittin’ balls real far for a long time. Been playin’ ball since, well, I don’t rightly know when, but it’s been a good while.
- He’s Cuban, that’s what they tell me. Come over here to play ball.
- Folks say he’s good at catchin’ balls too. Won some kinda glove award, a “Gold Glove,” they called it. Sounds fancy.
- And he hits them balls real good. They even picked him for some all-star games, twice I heard. Must be somethin’ special.
This money, though, that’s what gets folks talkin’. $18 million! How’d he get so much? Well, they pay him to play ball, that’s for sure. Big contracts, they call ’em. He signs his name on some paper, and they give him a whole lotta money. That’s how it works, I guess.
But it ain’t just the playin’ ball that gets him that money. He’s got other ways of makin’ a buck, I hear. Investments, they say. Put his money in different places, and it grows, like a plant in the garden, only faster, I reckon. And then there’s deals, you know, where companies pay him to say their stuff is good. Endorsements, they call ’em. Like, he’ll wear a certain kinda shoe, and then everyone wants to wear those shoes, so the shoe company gives him money. Makes sense, I guess, if you got that kinda pull.
Now, I ain’t sure what he does with all that money. Probably buys himself a big house, maybe a fancy car or two. Maybe he helps out his family back in Cuba, that’d be a good thing to do. I hear he’s been playin’ down in Venezuela lately, and the Dominican Republic too. Still hittin’ them balls, I reckon. And still makin’ money, that’s for sure. His money keeps growin’ every year, they say. Grew a lot in 2022 and 2023, and even more in 2023 and 2024. That’s what I heard, anyway.
He even had that COVID thing, they tell me. That’s why he didn’t go play for Atlanta. But he got better, and he’s back to playin’ ball. That’s good, I guess. Keeps him busy, and keeps that money comin’ in. $18 million, that’s a lot of money. Enough to keep a body fed and clothed for a good long time, that’s for sure. And I reckon Yasiel Puig is set for life with that much money!
So yeah, Yasiel Puig, the baseball player. Worth a whole heap of money, they say. $18 million. That’s more than I’ll ever see in my lifetime, that’s for sure. But good for him, I say. He worked for it, and he earned it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go tend to my garden.
