Man, it’s been a while since I talked about the big guy, Viscera. I remember when this dude first showed up in the WWF back in the 90s. You couldn’t miss him. He was huge, always wearing those crazy outfits. I started following his career from way back then.
First, he was Mabel, part of that tag team Men on a Mission. They were fun, but once he went solo, that’s when things got interesting. I watched him win King of the Ring. That was a big deal! But it was the Viscera persona that really stuck with me. I mean, the black leather, the white eyes, the whole dark vibe. It was wild.
I followed him through the Attitude Era. He joined the Ministry of Darkness, and man, those storylines were crazy. I remember watching every show, seeing what he would do next. He was intimidating as hell.
Then he kind of disappeared for a bit, which was a bummer. I kept checking online, hoping to see him pop up somewhere.
Later on, he came back to WWE, and they tried something totally different with him. This time, he was like, a ladies’ man. He wore these silk pajamas and was always hitting on Lilian Garcia, the ring announcer. It was so weird, but I watched it anyway. I guess I was just curious.
He even had a run as Big Daddy V on ECW. I watched those matches, too. He was still a force in the ring. His last match was in 2008. I remember watching it, a qualifying match for Money in the Bank. He lost, and that was it for him in WWE. After that, I heard he was wrestling in Japan for a while.
- Became Mabel in WWF
- Won King of the Ring
- Turned into Viscera
- Joined the Ministry of Darkness
- Disappeared for a couple of years
- Returned as a “ladies’ man”
- Wrestled as Big Daddy V on ECW
- Wrestled his last match in 2008
- Went to Japan to wrestle
I kept following his career, even after he left WWE. He popped up in other places, like that Juggalo Championship Wrestling. I saw a match he had there against some guy named 2 Tuff Tony. It was a “Loser Leaves JCW” match. Viscera won. Good for him! I thought he might go for something bigger after that.
Death
Then, in 2014, I saw the news. He had a heart attack. He was only 43. I couldn’t believe it. I felt bad, man. He was one of a kind. I spent years watching this guy, following his career. It’s sad to think he’s gone. But I’ll always remember Viscera. He was a big part of wrestling for me. I read that he got cremated.
It’s a shame he’s not around anymore, but hey, he left his mark. I’ll always remember watching him. Those were some good times. Rest in peace, big guy.
