Alright, so the other day I was trying to figure out how many home games each NBA team plays. Sounds simple, right? Well, it kinda snowballed from there.
Digging into the NBA Schedule
First, I hit up the official NBA website, figuring they’d have the answer laid out nice and clear. I found the schedule section, but it wasn’t as straightforward as I’d hoped. It showed all the games, but I didn’t want to manually count home games for every single team!
I thought, “There’s gotta be a quicker way.” So, I started poking around different sports stats sites. I figured one of them must have this info readily available.
The Simple Math
Then it hit me – duh! The NBA season has 82 games, and it’s a pretty even split between home and away. I remembered hearing that somewhere before. So, I grabbed my calculator (yeah, I’m old school sometimes) and did the simple math:
- 82 games total / 2 = 41 home games
41 home games
It can vary.I realized, sometimes there are special events or games played in different locations, so it might not always be exactly *, generally speaking, 41 is the magic number for regular-season home games.
So, yeah, that’s how I figured out the whole NBA home game thing. It started with a simple question and ended up with me feeling a little silly for not realizing the answer was so obvious from the start!
