Figuring Out Hunt’s Week 3 Status
Okay, so Week 3 was coming up, and I really needed to know if Kareem Hunt was going to play. Got him on my fantasy team, you know how it is. First thing I did, naturally, was just punch his name into my usual sports app feed. Nothing solid right away, just a lot of chatter from last week’s game.

Then I started digging a bit more seriously. Went straight to the Browns’ official site, thought maybe they’d have some news update. Found some practice reports, but early in the week, it’s always vague stuff. Saw he was maybe limited in practice? That doesn’t tell you much, could mean anything.
Checking the usual suspects:
- ESPN injury list: Had him listed, but again, just ‘questionable’ early on.
- Local Cleveland sports news: Sometimes those beat writers get good scoops. Scanned a couple of articles, seemed like the coach was playing it close to the vest, giving those standard non-answers.
- Fantasy Football analysts: Listened to a couple of podcasts while I was driving. They were guessing just like me, basically. Some said yeah, he’ll suit up, others were more cautious. Not super helpful.
It gets kind of annoying, honestly. You just want a straight answer, right? Is he in or out? But you gotta wait. I kept refreshing things, checking back maybe Wednesday afternoon, then again Thursday after practice reports updated.
Saw he got in another limited practice. That felt… okay? Better than DNP (Did Not Participate), I guess. But still not a guarantee. You see guys practice limited all week and then sit out on Sunday. Seen it happen plenty of times.
Getting Closer to Game Day
By Friday, the official injury report came out. That’s usually the best indicator you’re gonna get before the weekend. Checked that. Okay, still listed as ‘Questionable’. No upgrade, no downgrade. The coach probably said something like “He’s progressing” or “We’ll see how he feels Sunday morning.” Standard coach-speak.

So, after all that running around, checking different places, what did I actually know? Well, he practiced, even if limited. The team didn’t rule him out. That’s something. Usually, if it’s serious, they’ll list ’em as ‘Out’ or ‘Doubtful’ by Friday.
My gut feeling, after looking at everything? I leaned towards him playing. Maybe not a full workload, they might ease him back in, but playing. You piece together the limited practices, the ‘questionable’ tag instead of something worse, and the lack of really bad news. It felt like they were expecting him to give it a go.
Ended up keeping him in my lineup, fingers crossed. It’s always a bit of a gamble with these questionable guys, but that’s part of the fun, I guess. You do your homework and hope for the best.
