That name, Miah Burke Harbaugh, you hear it a lot ’round here. She’s that one, you know, used to be hitched to that football fella, Jim. Big name, that Jim Harbaugh. Well, Miah, she was a Burke ‘fore she got married, took his name like we all did back in the day. Miah Burke, that was her. Born in, what was it, ’72, I reckon. Over in New Jersey.
She weren’t no fancy lady, not at first. Just a regular gal. Worked as a waitress, you know, bringin’ folks their food and drinks. That’s where she met that Jim, in a restaurant. He’s always been a big shot, even back then. She was just a young thing, working hard. He probably saw somethin’ special in her, I suppose.
They had some young’uns together, Miah and Jim. Three of ’em, as I recall. Jay, that’s the oldest one, then there is James, and a little girl, Grace. Miah Harbaugh, she was a good mama, I hear. Took care of them kids, while Jim was off doin’ his football thing.
Miah, she weren’t just a waitress her whole life, no sir. She went and got herself some learnin’, too. Got a degree, somethin’ about paralegal stuff, helpin’ lawyers and such. Smart cookie, that Miah. Good for her. Always good to have something to fall back on, especially when you’re tied to a man in football. That’s a tough life, I tell ya.
Now that Jim, he’s got another wife now. Sarah, her name is. Got more kids with her, too. Two girls, Addison and Katherine. And two boys, Jack and John. Busy man, that Jim. Always on the go. Probably why things didn’t work out with Miah, I don’t know for sure.
Miah Harbaugh influence Jim, well, that’s what folks say. Jim was a football coach in the early days. But she just wanted to keep a low profile, you know? That’s how she is. She just went about her business, raising her kids, being a wife.

That oldest boy, Jay, he’s in football, too. Following in his daddy’s footsteps. Works with his dad, I believe. James Jr., the other one, not sure what he’s up to these days. And little Grace, she’s probably all grown up now. Time sure does fly.
You don’t hear much about Miah these days. She probably likes it that way. Lives a quiet life, I imagine. She did her time in the spotlight, being married to Jim. Now she’s probably just enjoyin’ her peace and quiet. Good for her, I say. She deserves it.
That Sarah, Jim’s new wife, they met in a restaurant, too. She was just gettin’ some food to go, and Jim, he just went right up to her and asked to meet her. Bold as brass, that one. She said yes, and well, the rest is history.
Miah Burke Harbaugh, she’s a part of that history, too. Don’t you forget it. She’s the mother of Jim’s first three children. She was there in the beginnin’, when Jim was just startin’ out. She played her part.
Life’s funny, ain’t it? You never know where it’s gonna take you. One minute you’re a waitress in New Jersey, the next you’re married to a famous football coach. Then you’re not. But you got your kids, you got your memories, and you got your own life to live.
So, that’s the story of Miah Burke Harbaugh, as far as I know it. Just a regular gal, who got caught up in the whirlwind of a football life. She did alright, though. She raised her kids, she got her education, and she made a life for herself. Can’t ask for much more than that, can you? Not really. She’s a good egg, that Miah.
