Okay, so, I’ve been diving into the world of professional wrestling lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. Today, I wanna talk about this amazing wrestler, Giulia. The name of Eimi Gloria Matsudo is not the first time I heard, I always hear her as Giulia. I mean, I’d heard the name before, but I didn’t really know her, you know? So, I started digging in.
First thing I did was hit up the internet, like we all do, right? I typed in “Giulia wrestler” and started reading. Turns out, she was born in London on February 21, 1994. Her mom’s Japanese and her dad’s Italian. Then, bam, when she was one year old, they moved. I guess that must have had a big impact on her career path, right?
Then I jumped into her career. Apparently, she started out in 2017, wrestling for a promotion called Ice Ribbon. Her first match was a tag team thing, teaming up with Takako Inoue. It said she and her partner lost that first match, but hey, everyone’s gotta start somewhere, am I right? That match happened at some event called New Ice Ribbon #845. From there, she just kept going. She wrestled in this Japanese promotion called Stardom, and apparently, she was a big deal there. They even nicknamed her “Beautiful Madness”!
Wrestling Style
So, I started watching some of her matches. I was amazed that she got some crazy moves. This one move, I read it’s called the “Glorious Buster,” it’s a combination of movements: Hammerlock back suplex, powerslam, and sidewalk slam. It looks brutal! She’s also got this submission hold called the “Bianca,” which is basically a crossface and Rings of Saturn combined. I tried to mimic it, and almost pulled a muscle, haha.
Achievements
This lady’s got a whole list of achievements. She won awards from ESPN, Ice Ribbon, and even New Japan Pro-Wrestling. I mean, she’s been all over the place, racking up titles and championships.
Moving to WWE
Then, the big news. She signed with WWE! Now she’s on NXT, and she’s the reigning NXT Women’s Champion. That means she had to move from Japan to USA. I saw some of her NXT matches, and she’s killing it. But one thing I noticed, she must have a translator, a guy called Funaki, helping her out. Probably because of the language barrier. I heard she’s English-born but she started in Japan, so, maybe not so fluent in English? Anyway, she’s making waves in NXT, and I’m excited to see what she does next.
Autobiography
Oh, and get this, she even released her own autobiography on August 23, 2024. She named the book “My Dream”, and It’s all about her journey in wrestling. I’m definitely gonna check that out.
So yeah, that’s my deep dive into Giulia’s career so far. It’s been a blast learning about her, and I can’t wait to follow her journey in WWE. She’s definitely one to watch!
