So, I saw the news again today. More WWE releases. It seems like it happens pretty often these days, doesn’t it?

Honestly, seeing that headline pop up just kinda brought back some old feelings. Not about wrestling specifically, but about… well, about seeing people lose their jobs suddenly. It reminded me of a place I worked at a few years back. Big company, seemed stable, you know?
That One Tuesday
I remember it was just a regular Tuesday. Went in, grabbed my coffee, sat down to check emails. Then the weird quiet started. You could just feel something was off. Whispers started floating around about unexpected meetings happening on the executive floor.
Next thing you know, HR people started walking around with managers, tapping people on the shoulder. Not even calling them into an office sometimes, just… right there at their desks. Handing them envelopes. Security guards were suddenly very visible, kinda escorting folks out.
- It was surreal.
- People I’d worked with for years, good people, just gone in an instant.
- You spent the rest of the day just trying to look busy, avoiding eye contact, wondering if you were next.
I wasn’t let go that day, thankfully. But man, the atmosphere? Totally changed. The trust was gone. It felt like they just saw us as numbers on a spreadsheet, easy to delete when needed.
Seeing it Happen Again
So yeah, when I read about more WWE releases, I don’t just think about the characters on TV or the storylines. I think about the actual people behind those characters. These wrestlers, some are super talented, been with the company for ages, built a fanbase. And then suddenly, poof. Budget cuts, ‘creative has nothing for you’, whatever the reason is.

It’s the same feeling I got that Tuesday. It’s that reminder that even if you’re good at what you do, even if you’re visible, you’re often just part of a machine. And sometimes, parts get replaced or removed.
It’s rough. Doesn’t matter the industry, I guess. Seeing talented folks just cut loose like that always stings a bit. Makes you realize job security isn’t really a guarantee anywhere these days. Just something I was thinking about when I saw the news. Stay safe out there, everyone.
