Okay, so I’ve been messing around with betting on UFC fights lately, and I gotta say, it’s a wild ride. I’ve been focused on this dude, Sean Strickland, because his odds are always all over the place. It is not easy to tell what is going on. Let me tell you about my little adventure with his odds and what happened.
First off, I signed up for this thing called DraftKings Sportsbook, you know, they’re always going on about how you can bet on all sorts of stuff. You can bet on UFC fights and other sports events, or even future bets for different weight class championships, including UFC Heavyweight, UFC Middleweight, and UFC Lightweight. Anyway, I wanted to see what the deal was with Strickland’s fights. I noticed that they have this “moneyline” bet thing where you basically just pick who you think is gonna win.
So, the first time I looked into Strickland, it was for this fight he had earlier this year, 2024. This fight, they had both fighters listed at -110. They called it a “pick ’em,” which I guess means it was too close to call. I thought, “Alright, this is interesting,” and I put down some money on Strickland, just to see what would happen.
But then I started digging a little deeper and found out this dude, Strickland, supposedly makes like $850,000 for each fight. And I also saw some other odds for an upcoming fight he had. This time, one website called BetOnline had him as the underdog at -145 against this other guy, Du Plessis, who was the favorite.
I also stumbled upon this website that showed Strickland’s betting history for UFC and MMA fights. It lets you compare odds from different sportsbooks, which is pretty cool, I guess. It had all these tags like “Sean Strickland Odds,” “Sean Strickland Fight,” and “Mixed Martial Arts.”
Then, there was this other thing I found about UFC 293. It mentioned using the latest odds and some “industry-leading tools” to make a pick between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland. Apparently, that was the main event, and it was all about the Middleweight belt. I don’t know, it sounded like a big deal.
My Betting Experience
- Signing Up: I started by getting on DraftKings because it seemed like the easiest way to bet on these fights. It was simple enough to sign up.
- First Bet: I saw that Strickland was in a pick ’em fight. I didn’t really know what I was doing, so I just bet a little on him.
- Researching: Then I started looking more into it and saw he’s getting paid a ton and that he was the underdog in another fight. But actually, I’m not sure about that, maybe he was the favorite, cause the odds were negative? I don’t know.
- Comparing Odds: I found that site that lets you compare odds, which was kind of interesting. You can see all the different numbers and try to figure out who’s favored where.
- Learning More: And then I read about that UFC 293 thing, which seemed like a pretty big event. It got me thinking about how much goes into all this.
In the end, I realized betting on UFC fights, especially with a guy like Strickland, is pretty unpredictable. There’s a lot of information out there, and it’s kind of a mess to sort through. I’m still not sure if I’m any good at this, but it’s definitely been an experience. I might keep messing around with it, or I might just watch the fights and not worry about the odds. Who knows?
