So, I wanted to try and solve the absolute minimum required for the New York Times daily game. Here’s how it went down.

First, I grabbed my phone and opened up the NYT app. I found the game, and took a good look at the letters given.
Figuring Out the Words
Next, I started brainstorming words. I jotted down a few that came to mind, trying to use as many of the letters as possible.
- Wrote down some four-letter words.
- Tried to use the center letter in each word, as required.
- Made sure I didn’t use any letter more than once if it only appeared once.
Checking and Submitting
After I had a list, I double-checked each word to make sure it was valid. Then, I entered them into the game interface, one by one. It was a bit of a nail-biter, hoping I got them all right.
Finally, I hit the submit button. I managed to find the minimum number of words needed to qualify. Not bad for a little brain workout!
That’s it. That is all the story about me trying to solve the absolute minimum required for the New York Times daily game.
