Okay, so I’ve been watching a ton of wrestling lately, and I gotta say, Randy Orton’s look is just iconic. The guy’s been in the game for over two decades, and his style has evolved, but that haircut? It’s always been sharp. I decided I wanted to try it out myself.
First, I did some digging around. Turns out, his haircut is basically a crew cut, but with a bit of a fade on the sides. Some folks call it a “short crew cut with a fade.” Simple enough, right? I mean, this guy’s a wrestler, not a fashion model. Wrestlers need something that’s easy to manage, especially when they’re throwing each other around.
So, I grabbed my clippers. I’ve been cutting my own hair for a while now, so I figured, why not? I started with the top, keeping it pretty short, but not quite buzzed. Just like Randy. I think he changes it up sometimes, going from a buzz to a crew cut and back, but the crew cut is his main thing.
- Used a #3 guard on top, just to keep some length.
- Then, I switched to a #1 for the sides. This is where the “fade” part comes in.
- I made sure to blend it in, so it didn’t look like a choppy mess.
It wasn’t too hard, to be honest. The key is to take it slow and keep checking in the mirror. I used a trimmer to clean up the neckline, just like those barbers do.
Once I was done, I styled it with a bit of pomade. Nothing fancy, just something to give it a bit of hold and that slick look Randy Orton rocks in the ring. He’s always got that kind of smug, confident look, you know? With both his arms held to the side, above his head, a classic pose!
Result?
I gotta say, I was pretty happy with how it turned out! It’s a clean, simple cut that looks pretty darn good. It definitely gave me a bit of that “viper” vibe. I even practiced his signature move, the RKO, in the mirror. You know, that jumping cutter move he does? Named it after his initials! It’s a classic WWE style, kind of slow but full of that in-ring psychology that tells a story. Anyway, I won’t be delivering any RKOs anytime soon, but I can rock the haircut! Maybe not quite as well as Randy Orton himself, but hey, I’m no 5-star match pro wrestler.
This whole thing made me appreciate the simplicity of the style. It’s not just a haircut, it’s part of his whole persona. Anyway, it was a fun little experiment. It’s definitely a look I’ll be keeping for a while.
