Okay, let’s talk about putting together that ‘raiden national team’ I’ve been running lately.

So, I kept hearing folks talk about this team comp, you know, Raiden, Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Bennett. Sounded pretty solid on paper, lots of reactions, lots of energy flying around. Decided I should probably give it a proper go myself, see if it lived up to the hype in actual gameplay, not just theory.
Getting the Gang Together
First step, obviously, was making sure I had the characters. I’d pulled Raiden Shogun during her banner, thankfully. Bennett, well, who doesn’t have Bennett? He’s been a staple forever. Xingqiu was sitting there, already had some constellations on him from random pulls over time. Xiangling, everyone gets her for free, right? So the base characters were there, which was a good start. Didn’t have to wait for any specific banners.
The Building Phase – Artifacts and Weapons
Alright, then came the actual work. Some of them needed serious building. My Raiden needed a good set of Emblem of Severed Fate. So, I basically lived in that domain for a while. You know how it is, grinding day after day, hoping for decent pieces. Energy recharge was the main thing I looked for, plus some crit, naturally. It took time, lots of resin, but eventually got a workable set. Weapon-wise, I went and did all that fishing for “The Catch”. Took ages, seriously, clicking on fishing spots, but it’s pretty much made for her if you don’t have her signature weapon.
Xiangling also wanted the Emblem set. More time in that domain! Same deal, needed energy recharge so her burst is always up, and pyro damage, crit. Slapped “The Catch” on her when Raiden wasn’t using it, or sometimes another polearm with energy recharge I had lying around.
Xingqiu, again, Emblem! See a pattern here? It’s just so good for characters who rely on their burst. Energy recharge is king for him too, gotta keep those rain swords active. Sacrificial Sword was my go-to for him. That skill reset is just too comfy for getting his burst back even faster.

Bennett was the easiest. I already had him mostly built from using him everywhere else. Just slapped a Noblesse Oblige set on him, focused on energy recharge and HP for his healing, and gave him a sword with the highest base attack I had available to maximize his attack buff. Easy peasy.
Leveling up talents was next. Focused mainly on their bursts – Raiden’s burst, Xiangling’s burst, Xingqiu’s burst. Bennett’s burst too, of course, for the buff and healing. Didn’t ignore their skills, but the bursts are where the magic happens in this team.
Putting It Into Practice
Okay, team built, time to actually play. The rotation took a little getting used to. My usual flow became something like this:
- Start with Raiden’s skill for the coordinated attack and burst damage bonus.
- Switch to Bennett, drop his burst for the ATK buff and healing.
- Switch to Xiangling, drop Guoba then immediately use her burst inside Bennett’s circle to snapshot the buff.
- Switch to Xingqiu, use his skill (twice if Sac Sword procs) and then his burst.
- Finally, switch back to Raiden, unleash her burst, and start slashing away. Her attacks recharge energy for the whole team.
At first, sometimes I’d mess up the order, or things wouldn’t feel quite smooth. But after a bit of practice, muscle memory kicked in. And wow. Once you get the rhythm down, the amount of damage this team puts out is pretty crazy. Everything just melts. Overload, Vaporize, Electro-Charged happening all at once. Big numbers popping up everywhere. Domains I used to struggle with became way faster. Spiral Abyss floors felt much more manageable.
Final Thoughts
Yeah, building this team took some effort, especially the artifact farming part. That’s always a grind. But the payoff? Totally worth it, in my experience. It’s strong, it’s relatively accessible since three of the characters are four-stars, and the synergy is just fantastic. Everyone fuels everyone else’s burst, and then Raiden comes in to recharge the whole team again. It’s a really satisfying loop once you get it going. It’s definitely become one of my go-to teams for tough content now. Simple, effective, gets the job done.
