Alright, so I spent some time today trying to get the latest scoop on Mitchell Robinson. You know, being a Knicks fan, you kinda always keep an eye on who’s in and who’s out, especially with key guys like Mitch.

I just started digging around online, basically just typed in “mitchell robinson injury update” into the search bar. Checked a few sports pages I usually look at, scrolled through some feeds. It’s always a bit of a hunt to piece things together, isn’t it?
What I Found Out
So, the main thing is still that ankle issue he had. Remember when he went down? Yeah, turns out he needed surgery for it. That was back in December, I think. A stress fracture, they called it. Sounds painful.
The tricky part is the timeline. Initially, everyone was saying maybe 8-10 weeks after the surgery. But time keeps ticking, you know? I saw some chatter recently, maybe late February or early March, that he was starting to do some on-court work again. Stuff like shooting drills, getting movement back. That sounded pretty good, actually. Made me feel a bit hopeful.
But then, you also see reports saying there’s still no exact date for his return. It’s one of those “we’ll see how he progresses” kind of deals. The team seems to be playing it safe, which I guess makes sense. You don’t want to rush a big guy like him back too soon, especially with that kind of injury.
It’s a real shame because the team definitely misses his presence down low. His rebounding and shot-blocking are just different. You can really feel that gap when he’s not playing.

So, yeah, that’s basically what I gathered. He’s working his way back from that ankle surgery, doing more court stuff, but still no solid return date. It’s a waiting game, pretty much. Gotta just hope the recovery keeps going well and he doesn’t have any setbacks.
Keeping my fingers crossed we see him back out there before the season gets too deep into the important parts. We definitely need him.
