Okay, so “waylon mercy” – sounds kinda cool, right? I had no idea what it was, so I, you know, did what anyone would do – I Googled it. Turns out, it’s related to some game, Overwatch 2, I think. I’m not a huge gamer, but I’m always up for trying something new, especially if it involves messing around with stuff.

First, I needed to actually get the game. This part was surprisingly easy. I just went to wherever games are downloaded– I think one of those gaming platform things, found Overwatch 2, and hit download. The hardest part? Waiting for it to finish. My internet is… not the fastest.
Getting Started
Once it was downloaded, I launched it. Lots of flashy graphics and stuff. Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming. I had to create an account, pick a username (went with something totally random), and then… boom, I was in.
- Download Game.
- Creat a Account.
- Pick a username.
Figuring Things Out
The game throws you into a tutorial, which is helpful. I started clicking around, trying to figure out the controls. It’s one of those first-person shooter things, so WASD to move, mouse to look around, left-click to shoot. The basics, you know?
The thing is, I still didn’t really get the whole “waylon mercy” connection. I spent some time just running around in the practice range, shooting at targets. It was… okay. Kind of fun, but nothing * is have a sense of strike.
The “waylon mercy” Part (I Think)
After a bit of playing, I figured out that “Mercy” is one of the characters you can play. I think “waylon” might be a skin or something for her? Or maybe it’s a strategy? I’m still not 100% sure. I tried playing as Mercy. She’s a support character, so she heals people instead of doing massive damage. That’s kinda cool, I guess.

I hopped into a quick play match. Total chaos. People were running around everywhere, yelling in voice chat (which I quickly muted). I tried my best to keep my teammates alive, flying around with Mercy’s wings and using her healing beam. I definitely died. A lot.
My Verdict
So, after a few hours of playing, do I get the “waylon mercy” hype? Honestly, not really. Maybe I’m missing something. Maybe it’s an inside joke. Maybe I just need to play it more. The game itself is pretty polished, and I can see why people like it. The shooting feels good, the characters are interesting, and there’s a lot to learn. Will I keep playing? Maybe. I’m not completely hooked, but it’s a decent way to waste some time. I did a search in game and found there’s a lot of diffrient skins, and “waylon” is not one of * just some spelling mistake?
If anyone reading this is a big Overwatch 2 fan and knows what “waylon mercy” actually means, please enlighten me! I’m genuinely curious.
