Okay, so I’ve been wanting to dig into some NBA game data for a while, and I finally did it! I picked a game that sounded exciting – Golden State Warriors vs. Lakers – and decided to look at the player stats. Here’s how I did it.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find the data. I mean, that’s the most important thing, right? There are various websites for that.
Finding the Data
I started poking around for box scores. After trying a few different searches, I found the data that I think is pretty reliable. I wanted something I could easily work with.
Diving into the Numbers
Once I had the data it was time to check things out!
- Points: I wanted to see who the top scorers were. You know, the guys putting up the big numbers.
- Rebounds: Who was crashing the boards? I looked at total rebounds for each player.
- Assists: I also checked out the assists to see who was dishing out the most dimes.
- Other Stats: I also took a quick peek at things like steals, blocks, and turnovers, just to get a more complete picture of each player’s performance.
Putting It All Together
It was really interesting to compare the players side-by-side. I could see who had a really well-rounded game, and who might have struggled in certain areas. For example, one player might have scored a ton of points but didn’t grab many rebounds. I looked for those kinds of insights.
I’m pretty happy with how this little experiment went. It was cool to get my hands dirty with some real game data and see what I could find. I might try this again with some other games and maybe even look at some trends over time!
