Alright, so I jumped into Madden 24 recently, wanting to figure out how to actually celebrate after scoring. You know, make it feel a bit more satisfying after a big play. It wasn’t immediately obvious, gotta say.

Finding the Celebration Controls
First thing I did was just score a touchdown in practice mode. Seemed like the easiest way to try stuff without pressure. After I crossed the goal line, the player kinda just ran on his own for a second. I started fiddling with the controls.
My first instinct was to just mash buttons, which, yeah, didn’t do much except make the player maybe stumble a bit. Then I focused on the right stick. Flicking it seemed to do something. Different directions on the right stick made my player do different kinds of basic showboating moves. Like, a little point, a small dance, that kind of thing. Okay, progress.
Discovering Different Celebration Types
So, the right stick was for the immediate, maybe smaller celebrations. But I remembered seeing those cool signature moves and team celebrations in real games. How to trigger those?
I scored again in practice. This time, after the player ran a bit, a prompt actually popped up! It showed options linked to the right stick again, but it looked different, more like a menu this time.
- Right Stick Flick: This still did the quick, individual player celebrations. Good for just a little something.
- Holding Right Trigger (RT/R2) + Right Stick Flick: Aha! This seemed to trigger the Signature Celebrations. These are the unique ones for star players. If you score with a big name, this is usually the way to get their special move.
- Holding Left Trigger (LT/L2) + Right Stick Flick: This looked like it was for the Team Celebrations. Got the whole squad involved sometimes, which is pretty cool after a team effort touchdown.
- Pressing Right Stick Button (R3): Found this one too. Seemed to trigger another type, sometimes called a ‘Swagger’ celebration, I think? Just another option for a bit of flair.
Putting It Together
So, basically, after you score (touchdown, sometimes even a big sack or turnover), you get a window of a few seconds.

Don’t touch anything immediately, let the initial run happen. Then, look for the on-screen prompt (it’s not always super obvious at first glance, kinda blends in sometimes).
From there, it’s mostly about the right stick. Flick it plain for simple stuff. Hold RT/R2 then flick for signature moves. Hold LT/L2 then flick for team stuff. And click the stick in (R3) for another option.
Took a few tries in practice mode to get the timing right and remember which trigger did what. Sometimes I’d accidentally trigger a dive or hurdle before scoring if I was messing with buttons too early near the endzone. But once I got the hang of waiting for that post-score moment, it became pretty straightforward. Now I can actually show off a bit after a good play. Makes those touchdowns just a little sweeter.
