Okay, let me tell you about my little routine today looking into those home run bets. It’s something I sometimes do, just for a bit of fun, keeps the games interesting for me.

First thing I did this morning, after getting my coffee sorted, was pull up the day’s baseball schedule. I just wanted to see who was playing and who was pitching. Didn’t dive too deep right away, just got the lay of the land, you know?
My Approach to Picking Potential Homer Hitters
Now, I don’t have some magic formula. It’s more about gut feel mixed with a few things I look for. Here’s kinda what I did:
- Checked the matchups: Looked at who was pitching against who. Some pitchers just give up more long balls, or certain hitters just seem to own certain pitchers. I scanned through those matchups pretty quick.
- Looked at recent form: I like to see if a hitter’s been swinging a hot bat. You know, couple of extra-base hits in the last few games? Sometimes guys just get in a groove.
- Considered the ballpark: This is a big one for me. Some parks are just launching pads. If a guy with power is playing in one of those tiny stadiums, he definitely gets a closer look. Weather too, if it’s warm and the wind’s blowing out, that helps.
I spent maybe 20 minutes just clicking around, looking at basic stats, nothing too complicated. I don’t use fancy projection models or anything like that. It’s more like, “Okay, this guy hits lefties well, and he’s facing a lefty today in a good park… interesting.”
Narrowing It Down
So after that initial scan, I had a handful of names rattling around in my head. Maybe four or five guys seemed like decent possibilities based on my quick look. I saw one slugger facing a pitcher he historically does well against, another guy playing in that ballpark known for home runs, and a third who just seemed overdue, hitting the ball hard lately but just not getting it out.
Making the final picks (or deciding not to)

This is where it gets less scientific and more just… feeling it out. Today, I looked at my short list. One guy had odds that just seemed too low, didn’t feel like good value. Another guy, while in a good park, was facing a pitcher who’s surprisingly good on the road. So I crossed those off.
I ended up focusing on just one player. He had a decent matchup, was playing at home, and just seemed like he was seeing the ball well the past week. Felt like the most reasonable shot out of the bunch, for my money.
The Action Bit
So, I decided to put a small wager on that one guy. Really small, mind you. Like I said, it’s just for fun, adds a little spice to watching the game later. I just used my usual betting app on my phone, found the prop bet for him to hit a home run, and placed it. Took about two minutes.
And that’s it. That was my process for today’s home run bets. Now I just gotta wait and see what happens tonight. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don’t. It’s all part of the process, just sharing how I went about it today.
