My Journey Finding Decent Golf Pants
Alright, let’s talk golf pants. For the longest time, I just wore whatever khaki pants I had lying around. Didn’t think much of it. But man, playing 18 holes, especially walking, started feeling like a chore. My regular pants were stiff, got hot super quick, and just didn’t move right when I tried to swing properly. You know that feeling, right? Where the fabric kind of pulls across your knees or backside during the backswing? Drove me nuts.
So, I decided it was time to get serious, well, serious about comfort anyway. Started looking specifically for golf pants. Saw a bunch of brands, some crazy expensive. Then I stumbled upon some pants labelled with the PGA TOUR logo. Figured, hey, if it’s good enough for the tour name, maybe they’re actually decent for a regular guy like me. Wasn’t looking to spend a fortune, and these seemed reasonably priced compared to some others.
Giving Them a Go
Ordered a pair online. Wasn’t sure about the fit, always a gamble. When they arrived, first thing I noticed was the material. Felt lighter than my old khakis, smoother too. Had a bit of stretch to it, which felt promising.
Tried them on. Fit was pretty good, actually. Not too tight, not baggy like clown pants. Just comfortable. Walked around the house a bit, did a few practice swings in the living room – felt okay, no immediate red flags.
Hitting the Course
The real test was the course, obviously. Wore them out last Saturday. It was a bit warm, maybe low 80s? Here’s what I found:
- Swinging: Big difference. That little bit of stretch in the fabric made swinging feel much less restricted. Didn’t feel that annoying pull I got with my old pants. Felt smoother through the whole motion.
- Walking: This was huge for me. Walked the full 18. The pants felt light, and I didn’t overheat nearly as much. They seemed to breathe way better. Didn’t finish the round feeling like a sweaty mess down there.
- Comfort: Just generally comfortable for the whole 4-5 hours. Bending down to read putts or tee up the ball felt easier too.
- Pockets: Deep enough for a couple of balls, tees, marker, repair tool. Standard stuff, but they worked fine. Didn’t feel like things were gonna fall out.
After the Round and Washing
Took them off, they still looked decent. Didn’t seem overly wrinkled or anything. Tossed them in the wash like normal, then dried them on low heat. Came out looking fine. No shrinking, no weird pilling of the fabric yet. Seems like they’ll hold up okay, but time will tell after a dozen more washes, you know?

Compared to my old pants? Night and day. Compared to some super high-end brands I’ve felt in stores? Maybe not quite as fancy feeling, but for the price and the actual performance on the course, I’m really happy. They just worked without me having to think about them, which is kind of the point.
So yeah, that’s my experience with these PGA TOUR pants. They do the job, feel good, didn’t break the bank. If your regular pants are holding back your comfort on the course, maybe give something like this a look. Made my rounds more enjoyable, for sure.
