Okay, so, today I want to share my experience about K.J. Windham. I’ve been following this guy for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a ride. I mean, I first noticed him when I was checking out some high school basketball stuff, and boom, there he was. This kid, K.J. Windham, a 6’3″ point guard from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, was making waves.
So, I started digging. I learned that he was rated as a three-star prospect, and people were saying he was the No. 2 player in Indiana. Not bad, right? I mean, for a high school kid, that’s pretty impressive. And he was also ranked as the No. 18 combo guard in the whole nation. I followed his social media, which has nearly 6,000 followers.
Then, I watched a bunch of his games. His plays, his moves on the court, man, this guy was good. He was playing for Meanstreets on the club basketball circuit, and you could just see the potential. I was like, “This kid is going places.”
And then, what do you know? He commits to Northwestern. I was stoked! Northwestern is a solid program, and I knew he would get a chance to shine there.
The 2024-2025 season is coming up, and I’m hyped to see what he can do at the college level. It’s been cool to see all those people talking about how Northwestern got a good one with K.J. and another guy, Angelo Ciaravino.
Here are some things that I specifically took note of:
- High School Dominance: I mean, being the No. 2 player in Indiana is no joke. This showed me he was a big deal in the high school scene.
- National Ranking: Being ranked No. 18 combo guard nationally? That confirmed he was one of the top players in his position across the country.
- Playing for Meanstreets: This is a well-known club team, and it told me he was playing against some tough competition and holding his own.
- Commitment to Northwestern: This was a big step, and it showed he was ready to take his game to the next level. It’s a great program, and I think he’ll fit in well there.
So, yeah, that’s my journey following K.J. Windham so far. From discovering him in high school to seeing him commit to Northwestern, it’s been awesome. I’m really excited to see what he does next. I’ll be watching for sure!
