Okay, folks, let’s dive into something I did today – checking out those awesome Lakers statues.
So, I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, being a huge basketball fan and all. I finally got around to making it happen, and man, it was worth it!
Getting Started
First thing, I got up, check the weather online to see if the weather is good today. grabbed a coffee, and thought, “Today’s the day!”
The Process
- Planning: I am living a little far from the location, so need get some idea of how to get there without taking too long.
- Driving: It will be a long drive so need keep myself entertain. I put on my favorite podcast, and hit the road. The drive itself was pretty chill.
- Arrival: Got there, parked the car, and boom – there they were.
- Observation: I took my time, walking around each statue, reading the inscriptions, and just soaking it all in.
- Photos: No way I was leaving without some pics. I snapped a bunch, trying to get the best angles.
My Thoughts
Seeing those statues up close, it’s just something else. You feel the history, the legacy. I mean, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor – legends, right? And there they are, immortalized in bronze. I spent a good amount of time just looking at each one, thinking about their careers, their impact on the game.
Took some photos for memory, walk around and imagine the history behind it.
All in all, it was a great little excursion. Highly recommend it if you’re a Lakers fan, or even just a basketball fan in general. It’s a cool way to connect with the sport’s history.
