Alright, so I wanted to get those contact dunks down in 2K24. I’d seen some crazy clips online, and I was like, “I gotta do that!” So, I jumped into MyCareer and started messing around. Here’s how it went down.

Figuring Out the Basics
First, I had to figure out what I actually needed to even trigger these dunks. I went into the menus, looked at the animations, and poked around online a bit. It seemed pretty clear that you need a certain Driving Dunk rating.
- Pro Contact Dunks: I figured out I needed at least an 84 Driving Dunk. My guy was a little short of that, so… more grinding!
- Elite Contact Dunks: These were the real flashy ones. For these, I saw I needed a 92 Driving Dunk. Oof, that was gonna take some time.
- Small Contact Dunks: If you have a shorter player like a Point Guard, you might be going for these. For this, I need at least 89 Driving Dunk.
Gearing Up My Player
My player wasn’t quite there yet, attribute-wise. So, I spent a bunch of time playing games, earning VC, and focusing on those dunking drills in practice. It was a bit of a grind, honestly. I just kept hitting those games, focusing on getting to the rim and trying to dunk whenever I could.
I also made sure I had the right badges equipped. Things like “Posterizer” – I figured that had to be pretty important, right? Anything that boosted my dunking ability, I slapped it on.
Trying (and Failing) in Games
Even after I hit the required ratings, it wasn’t automatic. At first, I kept getting blocked, or my guy would just do a regular layup. It was super frustrating! I’d get open, drive to the basket, and… nothing. Just a weak layup. I felt like I was doing something wrong.
Figuring Out the Timing and Controls
I realized I needed to really work on the controls. It’s not just about holding down the sprint button and pressing the shoot button. I started practicing with the right stick, pulling it down to try and force those dunk animations.

And timing is KEY. You can’t just run in there and expect it to happen. You gotta get a good run-up, have a bit of space, and then bam, go for the dunk at the right moment. It took a lot of practice in the practice gym, just running back and forth, trying to get the feel for it.
Finally Getting Those Contact Dunks!
Finally, it started to click. I got my first few contact dunks, and man, it felt GOOD. Seeing my player throw it down over some defender? Awesome. It’s still not 100% consistent, but I’m getting way more of them now. I’m still working on getting those Elite ones consistently, but the Pro ones are becoming pretty regular.
So, yeah, that’s my journey to contact dunks in 2K24. It takes some work, but it’s definitely worth it when you finally start throwing it down on people!
