So, I’ve been sinking a fair bit of time into that Black Clover mobile game recently. You know how it is, you start playing, get hooked on collecting the characters, and suddenly you’re deep in the grind. After playing daily for a while, trying out different squads and seeing which characters clicked and which ones just… didn’t, I started getting ideas about who the really strong ones were.

It wasn’t like a sudden decision, more like it grew over time. I’d clear a tough stage and think, “Man, this character really carried me,” or I’d get stuck and realize, “Okay, maybe this team setup isn’t cutting it.” I found myself mentally ranking characters just based on my own gameplay.
Eventually, I thought, why not actually try and put this down somewhere? Make a proper list. It felt like a good way to sort out my own thoughts and maybe help others who were scratching their heads about who to build.
Getting Started
First thing I did was just play even more, but this time more consciously. I paid closer attention during battles. Who was dealing the most damage? Who was keeping the team alive? Who had those clutch skills that turned things around? I wasn’t just playing for fun anymore; I was sort of analyzing things as I went.
I started jotting down notes. Simple stuff at first:
- Character A: Hits hard, good in boss fights.
- Character B: Great healer, keeps everyone topped up.
- Character C: Dies too fast, maybe needs better gear?
- Character D: Awesome buffs, makes the whole team better.
It was messy, just random thoughts on my phone’s notepad or a scrap piece of paper.

Figuring Out the Rankings
Then came the harder part: actually comparing them. It’s tricky because characters have different roles. How do you weigh a top-tier damage dealer against a god-tier support? I decided to break it down based on a few things:
- Overall Usefulness: How good are they in different parts of the game, like story mode, dungeons, PvP?
- Skills: How impactful are their abilities? Do they have good synergy with others?
- Stats: Basic attack, defense, HP – the raw numbers matter.
- Ease of Use/Investment: Some characters need specific teammates or tons of resources to shine.
I spent a lot of time just staring at character screens, reading skill descriptions again, and thinking back to specific fights. I tried different team combinations, even with characters I didn’t initially rate highly, just to see if I was missing something.
Making the Actual List
Once I felt I had a decent handle on most characters I’d used or faced, I looked for one of those online tier list maker tools. Found a simple one where you can just drag and drop images into different rows.
I started putting the obvious ones in first. The characters everyone knows are amazing went straight into the S-tier (or whatever the top label was). The ones who felt consistently underwhelming went towards the bottom.
The middle tiers – A and B – were the toughest. Lots of characters are good, but not quite game-breaking. It took a lot of shuffling around. I’d move a character up, then second-guess myself and move them back down. “Is this one really better than that one?” I probably spent a good hour just tweaking these middle ranks.
Final Thoughts
In the end, I had my list. It felt pretty solid, based on my own hours logged in the game. It’s definitely subjective, though. Someone else might have different priorities or better luck with certain characters. Gear and team composition make a huge difference too. But this was my honest take after spending all that time playing and thinking about it.
It was actually quite a satisfying process, going from just playing casually to really digging in and evaluating everything. Felt like I understood the game a bit better afterwards. Just wanted to share how I went about it!
