That Tom Kim, what a fella! I tell ya, I seen him on the TV, swingin’ them sticks like he was born with ’em in his hands. He’s got a whole bunch of them golf clubs, and they all look shiny and new. I don’t know much about them fancy things, but I know they help him whack that little white ball real good. They must be good clubs to use on the golf course.
He’s got this big one, they call it a “driver”. I reckon it’s for hittin’ the ball far, like clear across the field. It’s the biggest club in the bag, look like. I bet that thing costs a pretty penny! My old man used to have a driver, but it was for the tractor, not for no golf game!
Tom Kim’s Golf Clubs
Then he’s got some other ones, not as big, but still long. They call ’em “woods.” Now, why they call ’em that, I don’t know. They ain’t made of wood, not like the trees in my backyard. Maybe they used to be, back in the day. These woods, they’re for when the ball ain’t too far, but still needs a good whack. I saw Tom usin’ one of them when his ball was in the tall grass. He got out though, that boy is something else with his Titleist clubs.
He’s got a whole mess of other clubs, they call ’em “irons.” Now these, they look more like somethin’ I’d use to stir my stew, only smaller. He’s got a bunch of ’em, all with different numbers on ’em. I reckon the numbers mean how far they hit the ball. Like, maybe a number 3 iron goes further than a number 7. It’s all a mystery to me, but Tom, he sure knows how to use ’em. And his golf bag must be heavy with all those in there!

More About Them Irons
He can hit that little ball, make it go up in the air, then land right where he wants it. It’s like magic, I tell ya! I seen him do it on that Royal Montreal Golf Club place. Fancy name for a field, if you ask me. But they got all them little holes and flags, and people watchin’. It’s a whole to-do. It seems to be a nice golf course.
Then he’s got these other things, called “wedges.” Now these are for when the ball is real close to the hole. He uses ’em to kinda scoop the ball up, make it go just a little ways. It’s like flippin’ a pancake, only with a golf ball. He’s got a few of them wedges, too. All different, just like them irons. Those Titleist clubs are something else.
And then there’s this last one, he calls it a “putter.” This one’s for when the ball is right near the hole, just needs a little tap to go in. It’s the smallest club of the bunch, looks kinda funny if you ask me. But Tom, he’s a master with that putter. He can tap that ball, make it roll just right, and plop, right in the hole! He won some big thing with it, too. They called it Presidents Cup, whatever that is.
Tom Kim and His Bag of Tricks
So, that Tom Kim, he’s got a whole bag full of them golf clubs. Each one for a different job, like a toolbox for a carpenter. He’s got his driver, his woods, his irons, his wedges, and his putter. He sure needs that big golf bag! And he knows how to use every single one of ’em. It’s somethin’ to watch, I tell ya. That boy’s gonna go far, mark my words. He’s already gone pretty far, I reckon, playin’ on that Royal Montreal Golf Club. And winnin’ that Presidents Cup. Yep, that Tom Kim, he’s a real golf whiz with those Titleist clubs of his.
I don’t know how he keeps ’em all straight. I’d get ’em mixed up, for sure. I’d probably use the putter to hit it far, and the driver to tap it in the hole! But that’s why he’s the professional golfer, and I’m just watchin’ him on TV. He sure is good at that golf course game.
Why So Many Clubs?
I reckon he needs all them different clubs ’cause every shot is different. Sometimes the ball is far away, sometimes it’s close. Sometimes it’s in the grass, sometimes it’s on the sand. It’s like when I’m cookin’. I need a big spoon for stirrin’ the soup, and a little spoon for eatin’ it. Same idea, I guess. And that golf bag must be organized for him to find the right club.
I still don’t understand all the rules of that golf game, but I sure like watchin’ that Tom Kim play. He makes it look easy, even though I know it ain’t. He must practice a lot, swingin’ them golf clubs all day long. I bet his hands get tired. I know mine would! I wonder if he’s ever been to Royal Montreal Golf Club before that Presidents Cup.
Anyway, that’s all I know about Tom Kim and his golf clubs. He’s a good player, that’s for sure. And he’s got a whole lot of fancy equipment to help him out. Maybe one day I’ll try that golf game myself. But for now, I’m happy just watchin’ it on TV. It’s better than watchin’ the cows, that’s for darn sure! He’s a good player with those Titleist clubs!
