Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into golf lately, and of course, the name Tiger Woods keeps popping up. I mean, he’s the guy, right? So, I got curious about his handicap. Like, how does a legend like Tiger even have a handicap?

First, I tried to figure it out the normal way. I started hitting balls at the range, trying to imagine what it would be like to play at his level. Let me tell you, it’s not easy. I shanked a few, topped a couple, and even whiffed once (don’t tell anyone!). It gave me even more respect for the pros.
Then, I tried my rounds for fun! I played a couple of rounds at my local course, keeping score as honestly as I could. I even used one of those fancy golf apps to track my stats. My handicap? Let’s just say it’s… not quite Tiger’s.
I realized pretty quick that calculating his handicap wasn’t something I could do with my own game. I am no Tiger. So, I started digging around, checking out those golf forums and articles. I wanted a deep understanding and to figure out how does the handicap work.
The Hunt for Tiger’s Handicap
I found a lot of people saying a lot of different thing. Some say it’s +8, others +6. I do not know what is true and what is a lie. Then I started to think. Maybe he does not have an official one, he is not an amateur. So, I do not need to keep tracking my handicap, I need to track my game like him!
- Track Every Shot: Fairways hit, greens in regulation, putts per round – the whole nine yards. I even started noting the type of miss, like was it a push, pull, slice, or hook.
- Course Conditions: Was it windy? Were the greens fast? Did it rain the night before? All this stuff affects play, so it needs to be in the notes.
It’s been a fun, slightly obsessive, journey. Tiger’s handicap is a testament to his incredible skill and the dedication it takes to be at the top of the game. Now, all I need to do is keep playing, keep tracking, and I might not ever be a Tiger, but at least I can track my growth!
