Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this guy, Dan Heefner. I’ve been digging into his story lately, and man, it’s been a ride. I first heard about him through some online article – you know how it is, you click one thing, and suddenly you’re down a rabbit hole. Anyway, this article mentioned he’s the head coach for the Dallas Baptist baseball team. I don’t know much about baseball but it sounded like he’s been doing pretty well since he became their head coach, and they’ve made it to a bunch of tournaments.

So, I went to that video-sharing site. I typed in “Dan Heefner” and found a clip from something called “The Pitching Command Show.” It was pretty interesting, even for someone like me who’s not super into baseball. He was talking about how the game’s changed over the years, and he seemed to really know his stuff.
Then, I wanted to get a better sense of who he is as a person, not just a coach. I stumbled upon this interview where he talked about a moment when the Lord spoke to his heart and told him he could balance his faith and his coaching career. It was cool to see that side of him, you know? Like, he’s not just about winning games. He’s got this whole spiritual side, too.
After that, I found another article, this one was all about how his team finished the 2015 regular season with the No. 1-ranked RPI in the country. And he has been their head coach for 18 seasons, this is really impressive. I was like, “Okay, this guy is seriously good at what he does.” It made me wonder what his secret was. But the article didn’t really go into that.
At some point in my deep dive, I ended up on this random book about business process management. I know, right? What does that have to do with Dan Heefner? Well, the author’s name was Theodore Panagacos, and his name is the same as the other article’s. It felt like a weird coincidence, but it made me realize that all this stuff is connected in some way. I mean, here I was, starting with a baseball coach and ending up with some business management book. The internet is a wild place, man.
Anyway, I thought I’d share my little journey of discovering Dan Heefner. It’s been interesting, to say the least. It’s like, you start with one thing, and it leads you to all these other things you never expected. I never thought I’d be so interested in a college baseball coach, but here I am. It just goes to show, you never know where your curiosity might take you.
