Well, let me tell ya ’bout them fellers from Alabama who done won that there Heisman Trophy. It’s a big deal, ya know, like winnin’ the biggest prize at the county fair, only fancier.
First off, we gotta talk ’bout Mark Ingram. He was the very first fella from Alabama to ever snag that Heisman. That was back in 2009. He was just a young fella, a sophomore they call it, playin’ runnin’ back. And boy, could he run! Like a greased pig at the fair, he was. He made history, that boy did. That’s somethin’ special, bein’ the first.

Then comes Derrick Henry in 2015. Another runnin’ back, big fella, strong as an ox. I seen pictures of him kissin’ that trophy. Musta felt real good, holdin’ somethin’ that shiny and important. He was real good, that Henry. Folks ’round here still talk about him.
Now, they got this other fella, Bryce Young. He won it in 2021. He’s different though, he throws the ball, a quarterback they call ’em. First quarterback from Alabama to win it, so that’s another big deal. He threw the ball a whole bunch, and didn’t mess up too often. Seems like he was pretty good at what he did.
So, we got Ingram, Henry, and Young. Three fellas from Alabama, all winnin’ the Heisman. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, ya know? It’s like havin’ the best tomatoes at the market three times. People remember that.
Some other places got more winners, like that USC school, they got a bunch. But Alabama, we got some good ones, real good ones. They say this Heisman thing don’t come with no money, but it helps them fellas get to the big leagues, playin’ on TV and all.
Speakin’ of the Heisman, it’s kinda like pickin’ the best watermelon at the patch. Everybody’s lookin’ at ‘em, seein’ who’s the biggest, the juiciest, the best. And these Alabama boys, they were the best of the best, that year they won.
I heard tell of some famous fellas who won it too, names like Sanders and Dorsett and Tebow. Big names, just like our Alabama boys. It puts ’em in a special group, them Heisman winners. Like bein’ in the special prize-winning pie contest at the fair, only bigger, much bigger.
And that Archie Griffin fella, he won it twice! Can you imagine? That’s like winnin’ the blue ribbon at the fair two years in a row for the same prize-winning pig. Must be one heck of a player. But our Alabama boys, they each won it once, and that’s good enough for us. We’re proud of ‘em.
So, that’s the story of the Alabama Heisman winners, as best as I can tell it. Ingram, the first. Henry, the strong one. And Young, the fella who throws the ball real good. Three fellas, three big wins for Alabama. And that’s somethin’ to crow about, ain’t it?
Remember them names, ’cause they’re important ’round here. Mark Ingram, Derrick Henry, and Bryce Young. Alabama Heisman winners, the best of the best. They make us proud, they surely do.
It ain’t just about football, ya know. It’s about hard work and doin’ your best. Just like plantin’ a good crop and watchin’ it grow, these boys put in the effort and they got rewarded. That’s a good lesson for anyone, I reckon.
So, next time you hear about the Heisman Trophy, you remember them Alabama boys. They done good, real good. They’re part of somethin’ special, part of Alabama history. And that’s somethin’ that’ll last a long, long time.
