Well, I heard them young’uns talkin’ ’bout this thing, this “dirty fantasy team names” thing. Sounds kinda crazy to me, but I guess it’s what the kids are into these days. They get all excited about their football and their teams, ya know? This whole fantasy football thing, they pick players and make up teams. And these names, oh honey, they get a little wild.
Now, I don’t understand all of it, but I heard some of them names they come up with. One of ’em, they called it, somethin’ like “My Boy Friend’s Dak”. What’s a Dak, ya ask? I don’t know, child. But it sure sounds funny, don’t it? I reckon it’s some player they like.
Another one was “Just the Tua Us”. I guess Tua is another one of them players. They sure do love their players, these young folks. They were also talkin’ about something named Carr, like a car you drive. “I got a fast Carr”, they said. What in the world is that about, a fast car for football? It don’t make no sense, but it’s what they like. These funny fantasy football team names. They sure are somethin’.
And this other one, now this one was a real head-scratcher. “All you Need is Love”. Now, I like love as much as the next person, but what’s that got to do with football? Maybe they just like the sound of it. Maybe they just like to put words together that sound funny. This is all part of the dirty fantasy team names, I guess.
They kept goin’ on and on. “Sure Win Williams”. Now that one, I kinda get. They want their team to win, I suppose. But Williams? Is that a player too? I reckon so. It’s all very confusin’.
They was sayin’ somethin’ about “Hanging with”. Hanging with who? Who are they hangin’ with? It’s all a mystery to me. But they sure do get a kick out of it. They laugh and holler and carry on about these names. They’re always tryin’ to come up with somethin’ new, somethin’ clever, they say.
Now, these young folks, they got all these fancy words for it. “Crazy“, “silly“, “great“, “cool“. They just want a good name for their team, I suppose. A name that makes ’em laugh. A name that makes other people laugh, maybe. They call these names “dirty“, I don’t know why. Don’t seem so dirty to me, just silly, and that’s okay, I guess.
I heard ’em talkin’ ’bout “researchin’” and “rankin’s”. They look at lists of players, I think. And they got different ways of keepin’ score. It’s all very complicated.
- They spend hours lookin’ at their phones, I reckon.
- They talk about these players like they know ’em.
- They get all worked up about who’s gonna win.
- It is just for fun, I think, and that is important.
- They get together and watch the games, I suppose.
They got all these special rules, too. Rules about how many players you can have, and what positions they play. It’s like a whole other language they speak. A fantasy football language. And these dirty fantasy team names are a part of it, I guess. They even have football team names for fun, too, I heard.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy stuff. We just played games outside. We didn’t need no made-up teams or silly names. But times change, I suppose. These kids today, they got their own way of doin’ things.
I asked my grandson about it. He tried to explain it to me, but I still don’t quite get it. He said it’s like bein’ a coach, but not really. You just pick the players and see how they do. And the names, well, they’re just for fun, he said. Like “My Boy Friend’s Dak,” he said again, it is a very popular name.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about these “dirty fantasy team names“. It’s a strange world, this fantasy football world. But if it makes them happy, then I guess it’s all right. As long as they’re havin’ fun, that’s all that matters, right?
These kids and their games. Always somethin’ new. Always somethin’ different. But that’s young folks for ya. They keep us on our toes, don’t they? And these names, well, they sure are somethin’ to talk about, ain’t they? “Just the Tua Us,” they say, that is a funny fantasy football team name. Maybe I will try to make a team one day.
