So, I’ve been kinda obsessed with tattoos lately, right? And I also love watching tennis. It’s a weird combo, I know, but it got me thinking – do any of these tennis pros have ink? Turns out, yeah, quite a few do!
I started digging around, just casually browsing, you know, like you do. I figured I’d make it a little project. See who’s got what and where. First, I just googled “tennis players with tattoos”. Pretty basic, I agree. The results were a mixed bag, some articles here, a few pictures there. Nothing too organized.
Then, I started looking up specific players.
-
Nick Kyrgios, that guy’s hard to miss, and yeah, he’s got some ink.
-
Then there’s Karolina Pliskova, she’s got some too. I had no idea before looking into this.
-
Svetlana Kuznetsova, she’s got several. Some are pretty obvious, others you have to look for.
-
Oh, and Marketa Vondrousova, she’s got a whole bunch.
I started making a list, jotting down names and trying to describe the tattoos. I even made little notes about what type of tattoo it seemed to be. Like, some players seem to like those “patchwork” tattoos. You know, the ones that are a bunch of smaller tattoos close together to look like a sleeve? I think they’re pretty cool, but I prefer a tattoo sleeve that has no open space and is more likely to have a cohesive theme.
I started noticing some trends, too. Some players got tattoos after winning big tournaments. Like, a way to remember the victory, I guess. Others, their tattoos seem to be more personal, maybe something about their beliefs or their family. There’s one player who has “There is nothing worse in life than being ordinary” tattooed on them. I thought that was pretty bold.
I spent a good few hours on this little project of mine. Found a bunch of pictures and tried to match them up with the players. It was kinda fun, like a little scavenger hunt. I made this whole messy spreadsheet with all my findings. It’s not pretty, but it’s got all the info I wanted. I was surprised by how many players have tattoos that I would have never noticed watching them on TV, I thought it was awesome.
Turns out a lot of these tennis stars have their own way of expressing themselves through tattoos. It’s like a hidden world, right there on the court, in plain sight. Anyway, just thought I’d share my little adventure with you all. It’s not every day you find a cool new way to appreciate your favorite sport, right?
