Okay, so I’ve been hyped for Stalker 2 for like, forever, right? And with the release date getting closer – it’s supposed to drop on Nov 9, 2024 – I figured I needed to make sure my rig was up to snuff. I mean, I didn’t want to be caught with my pants down, unable to run the game because my PC was a potato.

So, first things first, I dug around the web to find the official system requirements. You know, the usual minimum and recommended specs. It took a bit of searching, but I finally found some solid info. Man, this game is a beast!
Minimum Requirements
- So, for the minimum requirements, we are talking about an AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or an Intel Core i5-7600K CPU.
- For RAM, 8 GB will let you in the door, but trust me, you’ll want more.
- And for graphics, we need at least an AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.
- Storage-wise, make some space because we need 150 GB of SSD storage.
I checked my own specs, I’m kinda on the edge here. I mean, my CPU is decent, an Intel i7, a bit old but still pretty good. But my graphics card… it’s an old GTX 970. Yeah, I know, ancient, right? I realized I’d barely scrape by with this setup. Time for an upgrade, I guess.
Recommended Requirements
- Now, for the recommended requirements, things get a bit wilder.
- The CPU should be an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or an Intel Core i7-9700K.
- For RAM, they are suggesting 16 GB.
- And the GPU? We’re talking about an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB, or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB, or even an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB.
- You’ll still need that 150 GB of SSD storage.
After checking out these, I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my GPU. I went for an RTX 2070 SUPER – not the newest thing out there, but it’s a solid card and it should handle Stalker 2 like a champ. I also bumped my RAM up to 16 GB just to be safe.
Installing the new parts was a bit of a hassle. I had to move some stuff around in my case, and those tiny screws are always a pain, But eventually, I got everything hooked up and working. I booted up my PC, installed the latest drivers, and ran a few benchmarks to make sure everything was stable.
Now, I’m all set for Stalker 2. My PC is ready to handle the Zone, and I’m ready to dive back into that creepy, atmospheric world. I can almost feel the radiation already! Bring on the anomalies, the mutants, and the factions – I’m ready for it all. Hopefully, my new rig can handle it, or else I’m gonna be one sad stalker.
