Okay, so I was watching some Thunder highlights the other day. You know, seeing how the team’s shaping up. Josh Giddey, man, that dude’s passing is something else. He just whips the ball around, finds angles you don’t expect.

And it got me thinking, watching him snatch a rebound or make one of those crazy passes. His arms look kinda long, right? Like, how does he even reach some of those spots? Naturally, my next thought was, what’s his actual wingspan? You hear about wingspan all the time in basketball talk, how it helps with defense, getting steals, rebounding, all that stuff.
Finding the Measurement
So, I did what anyone does. I pulled out my phone. Started searching, you know, just typing in “Josh Giddey wingspan”. Pretty straightforward.
The Process went something like this:
- Opened up a browser.
- Typed in the search query.
- Scrolled through the first few results.
You see a few different sites pop up, mostly sports stats places or draft profiles from when he first came into the league. That’s usually where they measure this stuff officially, at the draft combine.
The Number
Pulled up a couple of the more reliable-looking sources, like official league stats sites or major sports news outlets that covered the draft. They seemed pretty consistent.

Turns out, his wingspan was measured at right around 6 feet 8 inches. Give or take a fraction, sometimes you see it listed as 6’7.75″, but basically 6’8″.
It’s kinda interesting because he’s also listed at about 6’8″ tall. So, his wingspan isn’t crazy long compared to his height, like some guys, but it’s definitely solid. You can see how that reach helps him see over defenses to make those passes and grab boards. Anyway, just a little stat I looked up and thought I’d share the process. Simple stuff, really.
