Today, I decided to make a little change to my usual routine and try something I saw Scottie Scheffler do. I saw this guy wearing some light green pants on St. Patrick’s Day, and I thought, “Why not give that a shot?”
So, I went out and found a pair of pale lime-green pants, just like the ones he had on. They weren’t easy to find, but I managed to get a pair that fit just right. Then, I paired them with a belt that had a similar color to keep things looking good.
The real fun began when I wore them out. I was a little nervous at first, but people actually liked them! I even got a few compliments, which was pretty cool. It felt good to step out of my comfort zone and try something new.
Trying to Play Like Scottie
- First off, I tried to find some of those Tiger Woods ’20 Nike shoes, but no luck. They’re probably too expensive or just hard to find.
- I remembered Scottie uses a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball, so I picked up a few of those. Felt like a pro, even though I’m far from it.
- I also read somewhere that he started playing golf with plastic clubs when he was three. That’s crazy! I started way later.
- I tried to copy his swing. It’s tougher than it looks, I realized.
- I noticed that when he plays, he wears Nike shirts and pants. So, I already had a few of those in my closet, which was handy.
After spending the day trying to be like Scottie, I realized it’s not just about the clothes or the gear; it’s about the skill and practice. I might not have improved my game much today, but I definitely had a good time trying something different. Plus, those green pants? They’re growing on me. Maybe I’ll wear them again sometime, even if I don’t play like a pro. It’s always fun to mix things up a bit, right?
