Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s gab a bit about this Auburn University Radio Network thingamajig. I reckon it’s somethin’ fancy for listenin’ to them Auburn Tigers play ball, or whatever else them college kids get up to these days.
Now, I ain’t no spring chicken, and I ain’t never been to one of them fancy universities, but even I know folks love their sports. And from what I hear, this Auburn radio thingy is a big deal. They say you can listen for free! Free, I tell ya! Back in my day, nothin’ was free, ‘cept maybe the air we breathe, and sometimes even that felt a might expensive.
So, this Auburn Sports Network, that’s what they call it, is like a big ol’ radio club. They got this station, somethin’ called W- somethin’ or other, down in Auburn, Alabama. And they got all these other little stations, they call ’em ‘affiliates’, all over the place. Fifty-four of ’em, I heard tell! That’s a whole lotta stations, if you ask me. Means you can probably hear them Tigers games pretty much wherever you are, long as you ain’t too far out in the sticks.
It’s like this, you got your main station, right? That’s the big boss, the head honcho. And then you got all these smaller stations scattered about, like little chicks followin’ the mama hen. They all play the same stuff, so you don’t miss nothin’. Smart, ain’t it? These city folk, they do come up with some clever contraptions.
- They got this thing called TuneIn, sounds like a fishin’ net but it ain’t. They say you can listen on that too, anytime, anywhere. Don’t ask me how it works, it’s all magic to me. But if them young’uns can figure it out, I reckon it can’t be too hard.
- And then there’s somethin’ called KGRG-FM, 89.9 on your radio dial. That’s one of them Auburn stations, I guess. Sounds like a bunch of letters and numbers jumbled together, if you ask me. But hey, if it gets you the game, who am I to complain?
Now, I ain’t much for sittin’ around listenin’ to the radio. I got chores to do, chickens to feed, garden to tend. But I know some folks, they just love hearin’ them games. They get all riled up, cheerin’ and hollerin’ like a bunch of banshees. It’s somethin’ to see, let me tell ya.
And this Auburn network, they don’t just do football, I don’t think. They do all kinds of sports, probably basketball, baseball, maybe even them golf games where they hit that little white ball with a stick. I seen that on TV once, looked mighty borin’ to me, but to each their own, I always say.
So, if you’re one of them sports fanatics, this Auburn University Radio Network sounds like the ticket. Free listenin’, lots of stations, and you can probably hear them Tigers roar no matter where you are. It’s a marvel, I tell ya, a real marvel. Makes you wonder what them city folk will come up with next. Maybe a radio that washes your dishes while you listen? Now that would be somethin’!
Anyways, that’s all I know about this here radio network. I gotta go chase them chickens out of the garden now. They’re always gettin’ into somethin’ they shouldn’t. Just like them college kids, I reckon, always stirrin’ up trouble one way or another.
But hey, at least with this Auburn radio, you can keep up with all their shenanigans, even if you’re miles away. So tune in, y’all, and let them Tigers roar!
