Today I wanna talk about this little project I did, called “Reese Emerick”. So, I stumbled upon this old movie from 1972, “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid to Ask)”, directed by Woody Allen. It’s a comedy, a bunch of short stories inspired by a book by Dr. David Reuben, a psychiatrist.
I got curious and decided to dig deeper. First, I wanted to see what other people were saying about this movie. It’s a Woody Allen flick, so I knew it would be quirky. I found out it was a hit back in the day.
- Started looking into where I could watch it. Turns out, it’s on Vudu, Microsoft Store, and Amazon Video. Cool, I got options.
- Then, I was like, “Who’s in this thing?” Found a list of the cast and crew, you know, the usual – actors, directors, the whole shebang.
This got me thinking, “What if I make a little tribute to this movie?” I mean, it’s a classic, right? So I started gathering stuff. Found a recreation of the original theatrical print from 2014. That was a nice touch.
Next, I wanted to understand the movie’s themes. It’s all about sex, but in a funny, light-hearted way. One of the segments is even called “Do Aphrodisiacs Work?” Haha, classic Woody Allen.
My Project’s Angle
My project, “Reese Emerick”, I wanted it to be a modern take on these themes. I gathered clips, quotes, and images related to the movie.
Organizing it all was a bit of a mess at first, but I got it done. I focused on the comedic aspect and made sure to include some of the most memorable scenes and lines. The process of putting all these pieces together is the most interesting part, I’d say.
So, yeah, that’s pretty much it. “Reese Emerick” became this fun little project, a nod to a classic comedy. It was a blast putting it together, and I hope it brings a chuckle or two to those who stumble upon it.
It’s amazing how a simple curiosity about an old movie can turn into a whole project. And that is my story for today.
