Okay, so “Mexican Rolex” isn’t some fancy watch, It’s a drink, a shot to be exact. I saw it online and just had to try it. I’m not a huge tequila fan, but this sounded interesting, and I was feeling adventurous.

Gathering the Goods
First, I grabbed the ingredients. Luckily, I already had most of them:
- Tequila (I used a cheap blanco, nothing fancy)
- Pickle juice (from a jar of dill pickles, naturally)
- Hot sauce (I went with Tabasco, because, classic)
Mixing it Up
I pulled out a shot glass. No measuring here, just eyeballing it. I like that way, more intuitive.
I poured in some tequila, filling the shot glass about halfway. I thought, that’s a pretty decent start, right?
Next, I added the pickle juice. I did roughly the same amount as the tequila. It already looked kind of…weird. Green and cloudy, a weird mix.
Finally, the hot sauce. I didn’t want to overdo it, so I just added a few drops. I figured I could always add more, but I couldn’t take it away.

The Moment of Truth
I took a deep breath and knocked it back. Boom, all in one go, no wimping out.
Honestly, it’s… interesting. The tequila hits you first, that familiar burn. Then, the pickle juice comes in, all vinegary and salty. And just when you think it’s over, the hot sauce kicks in with a little zing at the end. It is definitely a weird mix of flavors, I have to say!
My Verdict
It’s not something I’d drink every day, that’s for sure. But it’s fun, it’s different, and it’s definitely a conversation starter. I did not regret. I might even make it again sometime, maybe for a party or when I’m feeling daring. It’s kind of like a culinary dare – you just gotta try it once, just to say that I did.
