Okay, here we go! Let’s talk about that pink dragon Real Madrid jersey I messed around with.

Alright, so it all started when I saw this wild pink dragon jersey floating around online. Real Madrid, but like… make it fashion, you know? I was instantly like, “I gotta try and recreate that.” I mean, it’s basically begging to be customized.
First thing’s first, I needed a jersey. Didn’t want to drop a ton of cash, so I started hunting around online. Ended up finding a decent blank white Real Madrid jersey on eBay – nothing fancy, just something to use as a base. Made sure it was the right size and pulled the trigger.
While waiting for the jersey to arrive, I went full-on research mode for the dragon design. I scoured the web for images of the original jersey, paying close attention to the details of the dragon, the colors, and the placement. I knew I wasn’t gonna get it perfect perfect, but I wanted to get as close as possible.
Once the jersey arrived, it was time to get my hands dirty. I started by sketching out the dragon design on paper. I ain’t no artist, so it was a pretty rough sketch, but it gave me a good idea of the overall shape and size. Then, I transferred the sketch onto the jersey using a fabric pencil. Lightly! Don’t want to ruin it before I even start.
Next up: the color. The original jersey has this vibrant pink color, so I had to find something similar. After checking out a few craft stores, I settled on a fabric paint that was close enough. I also grabbed some white paint for the highlights on the dragon.

Painting was a slow process. I used small brushes to carefully fill in the dragon design, layer by layer. It took a few coats to get the color nice and solid. And I definitely made a few mistakes along the way, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? I used a damp cloth to carefully wipe away the excess paint.
After the pink was done, I added the white highlights to give the dragon some dimension. This was tricky, because I didn’t want to overdo it. But a few strategic brushstrokes made a big difference.
Once the paint was dry, I heat-set it with an iron to make sure it wouldn’t wash out. Followed the instructions on the fabric paint, of course. Don’t want to melt the jersey!
And that was pretty much it! My DIY pink dragon Real Madrid jersey was complete. Was it perfect? Hell no. But it was unique, it was fun to make, and it definitely turned some heads when I wore it. Plus, I learned a thing or two about fabric painting. All in all, a successful experiment.
Things I Learned:

- Patience is key. Don’t rush the painting process.
- Good lighting is essential.
- Fabric paint can be messy, so protect your workspace.
- Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. It’s all part of the learning process.
I wouldn’t say I’m gonna quit my day job and become a custom jersey designer anytime soon, but it was a fun project. And now I got a one-of-a-kind jersey to rock. Worth it.
