So, today I tried the Ranni questline in Elden Ring, and boy, was it a journey! First off, I stumbled upon this tower called Ranni’s Rise in the Three Sisters area. That’s where I met Ranni, who initially called herself Renna. She’s a mysterious one, that’s for sure.
When I got to her, she asked me to serve her. I thought, “Why not?” Turns out, saying “yes” to her was a good move. It opened up a whole new storyline, and there are no negative side effects at all. I decided to go for it.
After agreeing to help her, I started this long quest. It involved going to different places, meeting all sorts of characters, and even fighting some tough bosses. I teamed up with Blaidd and headed to the Siofra River. This part was pretty cool, exploring the underground areas and all. Then, there was this festival where I had to fight a boss. Intense, but manageable.
I had to make some choices along the way, and these choices really made a difference in the game. They affected other characters and even changed parts of the game world. I thought it was pretty awesome to see the impact of my decisions. I also completed Ranni’s questline, which was necessary to continue with Fia’s quest. It’s all connected, you see. Fia’s questline unlocks another unique ending, which is a big deal.
Now, about serving Ranni. I found out that if you don’t want to serve her, it’s totally fine. You can just decline and continue on your quest to find the Erdtree. No harm done, no consequences. I did defeat Sellen, and I got the Witch’s Glintstone Crown and Sellen’s Bell Bearing. Jerren also gave me an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. I guess that’s a perk for going against Ranni, but it wasn’t the path I chose.
The whole quest was a bit of a hassle, mainly because the game doesn’t give you clear instructions. But that’s part of the fun, right? Figuring things out on your own. Finally, after I beat the final boss of the main story, I saw this blue summoning sign on the ground. That was my cue to bring in Ranni, which led to a secret ending. It’s optional, though. You don’t have to trigger it if you don’t want to.
Here’s what I did, step by step:
- Found Ranni: I went to Ranni’s Rise in the Three Sisters.
- Agreed to Serve: I said “yes” to Ranni’s request.
- Explored and Fought: I went to places like the Siofra River with Blaidd and fought in a festival.
- Made Choices: My decisions impacted the story and other characters.
- Completed Ranni’s Quest: This allowed me to continue Fia’s quest.
- Optional Ending: I had the choice to trigger a secret ending after the final boss.
All in all, it was a wild ride. Ranni’s questline is definitely something to experience if you’re playing Elden Ring. Just be prepared for a lot of twists and turns!
