Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into Rainbow Six Siege lately, and you know how it is with this game – constant updates and changes. Gotta stay on top of those patch notes, or you’re gonna get left behind, right? So, I decided to make it a bit of a ritual, a routine, to really understand what’s going on with each update. Here’s how I went about it this time.

First thing I did was bookmark the official Rainbow Six Siege website. I have done that a long time ago. Gotta have that quick access, you know? No searching around when the new notes drop.
Digging In
When the notes for the new patch came out, I jumped right in. I don’t just skim these things, I start at the top and read every single word.
- I look at the operator balancing changes first. Are my mains getting nerfed? Are any underdogs getting a boost? This is crucial, man. This can totally change how you play certain operators.
- Next, I check out the map tweaks. Sometimes they’re minor, like fixing a pixel peek, and sometimes they’re major, like re-working entire sections of a map. Gotta know where the new angles are, what walls are now destructible, that kind of thing.
- Then, I scroll down to the bug fixes. It’s always good to know that they fixed the bugs, which often break the game balance.
Putting It Into Practice
Reading is one thing, but you gotta see how it all plays out in the game. So, I fired up Siege and jumped into some casual, to get my feet wet.
I chose the operators that got changed, even if I don’t usually play them. It’s about feeling the difference, you know? Like, did that buff really make them viable? Is that nerf as bad as it sounds?
I also made a point of playing on any maps that got updated. It’s one thing to read about a new doorway, but it’s another to actually use it, or get caught out by someone who knows about it.

Taking Notes & Sharing
While I played, I actually made some notes. Sounds nerdy, but I mean, I kept a little text file open and just jotted down my thoughts. “This operator feels stronger now,” or “This new angle on the map is gonna be deadly.” It’s all about helping it stick in my brain.
So, the next time, I will use my notes, and maybe make some suggestions to my team. Share the knowledge, right?
That’s pretty much my process. It’s not rocket science, but it works for me. Keeps me in the loop, and hopefully, a little bit ahead of the curve. Gotta keep those W’s coming, right?
