Okay, here is my blog post about the “Pera vs Parks” topic:
So, the other day I was trying to figure out which one of these board games to get, PARKS or TREKKING the National Parks. I mean, they both are about national parks, so I was like, “What’s the deal?” I did some digging cause I really wanted to know which one was worth my time and money.
First, I watched some gameplay videos online. Then I saw this thing about Alycia Parks playing against Bernarda Pera in some tennis tournament, the Veneto Open 2024. Apparently, it was the final round, and Parks won. Some folks online were saying Parks is like the board game – simple and fast. And then there was this comment about Pera losing badly even though Parks had a bunch of double faults. I guess that got people talking about the games again, and how they are for different kinds of players. I don’t know much about tennis, but it made me think about what kind of board gamer I am.
Then I looked up some reviews and comparisons. Some people were saying PARKS is better for casual players because it’s easier to get into. Like, you don’t need to be a hardcore board game geek to enjoy it.
I also checked out this site called BGG, which I guess is a big deal for board game rankings. From what I saw there, PARKS seemed to be the more popular choice.
- Watched gameplay videos.
- Saw the tennis match news about Parks vs. Pera.
- Read reviews and comparisons of the board games.
- Checked out BGG rankings.
After all that, I decided to go with PARKS. I figured, as a casual player, it would be a better fit for me. Plus, the higher ranking on BGG gave me some confidence. I played it with my friends a couple of times, and it’s been a blast! It is simple and easy to understand and play. It is beautiful and relaxing.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure in choosing between PARKS and TREKKING. I chose PARKS and did not regret it. Hope this helps anyone else stuck in the same situation!
