Okay, so, I was trying to hop into some Apex Legends with my buddies the other day, and man, did we run into a headache. We’re all geared up, ready to drop, and bam – “party member preprocessing” pops up on the screen. We’re stuck, can’t get into a match, just staring at this message. What gives, right?
First thing we did, because it’s the classic move, was to restart the game. No dice. Still stuck with the same message. Alright, time to up the ante. I went ahead and fully reinstalled the game. I mean, a clean slate, right? Nope, still no change. It’s like the game was messing with us.
Then, one of my friends, he’s got a son who also plays on his PS4, so he thought maybe it’s some weird account conflict. He went and deleted his son’s copy of the game from the console. Extreme, I know, but we were getting desperate. And guess what? Still nothing. We’re still staring at that “party member preprocessing” message, feeling like we’re cursed or something.
Now, I checked my internet, made sure everything was running smooth there. And yeah, my connection was solid. We even tried switching who was hosting the party, thinking maybe it’s a host issue. Still no luck. It was like the game just decided we weren’t allowed to play together.
The worst part was when we did manage to get into the matchmaking queue, it took forever. Like, we’re talking about waiting times that could make a snail look fast. And most of the time, it wouldn’t even find a match. We’d just end up back at the lobby, staring at that dreaded message again.
It wasn’t just us, either. I hopped online, did some digging, and found out other folks were running into the same problem. There were posts and threads all over about this “party member preprocessing” issue. It seemed like it mostly happened when people were teaming up with friends, which is exactly what we were doing.
We tried everything we could think of. It’s just weird, and annoying, and makes you want to pull your hair out. I don’t know what we will do. It is very sad that this kind of problem can exist for so long.
