Alright, so, you wanna know about that basketball game, the Celtics and the Pacers, right? I watched it, kinda. Lots of runnin’ and jumpin’, them fellas do. Don’t understand half of it, but I can tell ya who did good and who didn’t.
The Celtics, they won. That much I know. Folks were cheerin’ real loud, so they musta done somethin’ right. Heard tell of this fella, Jason Tatum somethin’, played real good. Scored a bunch of points, I reckon. That’s what they do, score points. He was like a fly, buzzin’ around, couldn’t catch him, the Pacers boys that is. They were tryin’ though, bless their hearts.
Now them Pacers, they got some fellas who can shoot the ball too, I guess. But they didn’t shoot good enough, did they? Heard they like shootin’ them three-pointers. You know, the long shots. Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don’t. This time, well, not enough went in I reckon. They made some, sure, but not enough to beat them Celtics boys.
- The Celtics? They were fast. Runnin’ like chickens with their heads cut off, but in a good way, you know? Passin’ the ball around, makin’ them Pacers dizzy.
- The Pacers? They tried hard, real hard. But sometimes tryin’ ain’t enough, is it? You gotta make them shots, gotta stop the other fellas from scorin’. They didn’t do enough of that, I guess.
This Tatum fella, he’s a star, I hear. Folks love him. He’s like that fella on the TV, the one who sells the insurance. Everybody knows him. He scored a bunch, made some fancy passes, and generally just made them Pacers look bad. That’s what stars do, I reckon.
Now, the game itself, it was close for a while, I think. Back and forth, you know, like a teeter-totter. One team scores, then the other team scores. But then, the Celtics, they pulled away. Made a bunch of shots in a row, and the Pacers, well, they couldn’t keep up. It’s like tryin’ to catch a greased pig, them Celtics were. Slippery little fellas.
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout stats. You know, numbers and such. Said the Celtics had more points, more rebounds, more assists. Whatever all that means. Sounds important, though. Numbers don’t lie, they say. But I just watched the game. Saw with my own eyes who was runnin’ faster, jumpin’ higher, and makin’ more shots. And that was the Celtics, plain and simple.
The Pacers, they need to practice more, I reckon. Gotta make them shots, gotta play better defense. Gotta be tougher. Them Celtics boys, they were tough. Didn’t back down from nothin’. That’s how you win games, I guess. Be tough, be fast, and make them shots.
So, that’s what I saw. Celtics won, Pacers lost. Tatum was good, Pacers not so good. Lots of runnin’, lots of jumpin’, lots of cheerin’. That’s basketball, I guess. Confusin’ sometimes, but fun to watch, even for an old lady like me.
Now, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about basketball makes me hungry. Hope them Pacers boys eat a good meal tonight, they need it after that game.
And them Celtics? Well, they can celebrate, I reckon. They earned it. But they gotta keep playin’ good, or they’ll lose the next game. That’s how it goes, win some, lose some. Just gotta keep tryin’ your best.
That’s all I got to say about that basketball game. If you want more, you gotta ask someone else, someone who knows all them fancy numbers and stats. I just watch the game, and tell it like I see it. And that’s the truth, as plain as the nose on your face.
