Alright, so the other day, I was trying to figure out who actually owns the New York Mets. It’s one of those things you hear about but never really know the details, right?
First, I started looking up stuff about business things, like “Domestic Business Corporation” and “Limited Liability Company.” That didn’t get me very far, to be honest. It was all a bit too much legal jargon for me.
Then, I stumbled upon some info about a group called “Yankee Global Enterprises.” Turns out, they’re the main folks behind the New York Yankees, not the Mets. But, it got me thinking, maybe the Mets are owned by a similar group. This group was started by a guy named George Steinbrenner, who bought the Yankees way back in 1973.
I also dug into some history about the Yankees’ past owners. Apparently, they spent a ton of money on players like Babe Ruth, especially after the 1919 season. They got him from the Boston team, whose owner, Harry Frazee, was having some money troubles at the time.
Next, I tried to find something on a site called “Vrbo,” which is usually for renting houses, I think. I was looking for an owner’s login, hoping to find some connection to the Mets. I typed in an email address and password, but that was a dead end, too. No luck there.
After that, I checked out something called a “reverse address lookup.” I thought maybe I could find out who owns the Mets’ stadium or something. It showed some names of past and present homeowners near the stadium, along with their contact info and how much their houses are worth. Still no direct link to the Mets’ owners, though.
I went back to reading about how to set up a company, like a corporation or an LLC. I figured the Mets’ owners must have done something like that to own the team. It was all pretty complicated stuff, to be honest.
Finally, just for fun, I browsed through some online shopping websites like Kohl’s. I was looking at New York Mets stuff, like home decor and other fan gear. They had all sorts of things with the Mets’ logo, and it was cool to see all the merchandise. Free shipping and returns, too, which is always a plus.
So, even after all that, I still couldn’t find a clear answer to who really owns the New York Mets. It was a bit of a wild goose chase, but hey, I learned a few things along the way. Maybe next time I’ll have better luck.
