Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Tank fella, Tank Davis, you know, the boxer guy. Everybody’s askin’ when’s he gonna fight next? When’s that boy gonna be punchin’ somebody again? Hold your horses, I’ll tell ya what I know.
So, they were gonna have him fight this other fella, Lamont Roach, back in December, down in Texas, Houston I think it was. But somethin’ happened, things got changed around, you know how it goes. They do that a lot, them fight fellas.
Now, they’re sayin’ the fight’s gonna be next year, March 1st, that’s what I heard. They moved it to, uh, Brooklyn, New York City. Big city, lots of people, gonna be a big fight I guess. They’re callin’ it a “huge title clash,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, huh?
Tank, he’s got this belt, a WBA lightweight champion belt they call it. Means he’s the best at punchin’ people in that weight, I reckon. He ain’t lost a fight yet, that boy. Thirty wins, zero losses, and he knocked out almost all of ’em. Twenty-eight knockouts! That’s a lot of sleepy fellas.
- Fighter: Gervonta “Tank” Davis
- Record: 30-0 (28 KOs)
- Title: WBA Lightweight Champion
- Next Opponent: Lamont Roach Jr.
- Original Fight Date: December 14th (Houston)
- New Fight Date: March 1st
- Location: Brooklyn, New York
This Roach fella, he’s got a pretty good record too, but not as good as Tank’s. Twenty-five wins, one loss, one draw. He’s gonna try and take that belt from Tank, but I don’t know if he can. Tank’s a tough one, real tough.
They’re sayin’ the fight’s gonna be on somethin’ called “Prime,” a pay-per-view thing. Means you gotta pay money to watch it on TV. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that, I just watch whatever’s on regular TV. But if you wanna see Tank fight, you probably gotta pay for it, that’s how they do things these days.
They’re gonna start the whole shebang at 8 o’clock at night, Eastern time, whatever that means. And Tank and Roach, they’ll probably start fightin’ around 11 o’clock. That’s late, past my bedtime for sure. But those young folks, they like stayin’ up late, watchin’ people punch each other.
So, to make it clear, Tank Davis’s next fight is gonna be on March 1st in Brooklyn, New York against Lamont Roach. You wanna watch it, you gotta pay for it on “Prime.” And it’s gonna be late at night, so get your coffee ready.
I heard some folks sayin’ that Tank wasn’t gonna fight at all this year, in 2024. But they changed their minds, I guess. Money talks, you know? They wanna make money, Tank wanna make money, so they gonna fight. That’s how it works.
Now, don’t go askin’ me who’s gonna win, ’cause I ain’t no fortune teller. But Tank, he’s a strong fella, and he hits hard. Roach, he’s gotta be tough too, to get this far. It’ll be a good fight, I bet. Punchin’ and dodgin’, and all that stuff.
So, mark your calendars, folks. March 1st. Tank Davis. Brooklyn. Pay-per-view. That’s all I know. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about fightin’ makes a body hungry.
