Okay, so I saw Coco Gauff’s amazing yellow outfit and I just had to try and recreate it. I’m no fashion designer, but I figured, how hard could it be, right? Famous last words…
Finding the Pieces
First, I scoured the internet for similar items. I knew I wasn’t going to find the exact same stuff, but I wanted to get as close as possible. This took way longer than I thought! There are, like, a million shades of yellow, you know?
- The Top: I opted for a bright yellow, sleeveless athletic top. It wasn’t a perfect match to Coco’s, but it had the same sporty vibe.
- The Skirt: This was the trickiest part. Coco’s skirt had this cool, like, pleated thing going on. I ended up finding a yellow tennis skirt that was kinda similar, but not quite as flowy.
- The Shoes: Luckily, I already had some white athletic shoes that worked perfectly. One less thing to worry about!
- Accessories: I also found simple headband, It is necessary.
Putting It All Together
So, I threw on all the pieces and… it was… okay. It definitely wasn’t as effortless-looking as Coco’s. I think the skirt was the main problem. It just didn’t have the same movement. I tried to fluff it out a bit, but it still looked a little flat.
I added the headband, I felt more sporty, maybe it can helpful.
The Final Verdict
Honestly? It was fun to try, but recreating a professional athlete’s outfit is harder than it looks! I definitely have a new appreciation for stylists. While my version wasn’t a perfect replica, I still felt pretty good in it. I might even wear it to play some tennis (even though I’m terrible). I learned that it maybe need some time to find the perfect cloth, maybe next time, I should go to the store instead online shopping.
