Okay, so today I decided to get all nostalgic and create a crossword puzzle based on old songs. You know, the kind that instantly takes you back to a specific moment in time? Yeah, those.

Getting Started
First, I brainstormed a bunch of songs. I made a huge list, scribbling down everything that came to mind – from cheesy pop hits to classic rock anthems. I wanted a good mix, something for everyone (or at least, for me!).
Picking the “Winners”
Then came the hard part – narrowing down the list. I had way too many! I tried to choose songs that had pretty recognizable titles or lyrics, things that would work well as clues. It was tough, I wanted them all!
Building the Grid
Next up, I grabbed some graph paper (yeah, old school!) and started sketching out the grid. This part was like a puzzle in itself! I played around with different layouts, trying to fit all the words together in a way that made sense. A few words were stubborn, and I had to start over a couple times, I was stuck.
Crafting the Clues
Once I had the grid sorted, I started working on the clues. I wanted them to be challenging but not impossible. I used a mix of lyric snippets, fill-in-the-blanks, and general trivia about the songs or artists.
- Some clues were easier than others to write.
- Some song titles were a piece of cake to work with.
- Others, I had to get creative to find words that would intersect in the crossword.
The Final Touches
Finally, I double-checked everything, making sure all the clues matched the answers and that there were no sneaky spelling errors. I tested my crossword, filling out the grid and writing clues.

It was a fun little project! Brought back a lot of memories, and now I’ve got a custom crossword to share with my friends. Maybe I’ll make it a regular thing!
