Okay, so today I wanted to figure out who the heck was announcing the New York Yankees games. I mean, I love the Yankees, but sometimes I just want to know who’s talking! So, I started digging.

First, I just straight-up Googled “New York Yankees announcers.” You know, the basic stuff. That gave me a bunch of names, but it was kind of overwhelming. Who was who? What did they do?
Then I started poking around different websites. Some were helpful, others… not so much. I spent a good chunk of time just trying to sort through all the information.
My Main Discoveries
- Michael Kay: This guy seems to be the main play-by-play voice. I recognized his voice almost immediately.
- Various Color Commentators: Apparently, it rotates! I saw names like Cameron Maybin, Paul O’Neill, David Cone, and a few others. It’s like a revolving door of former players.
- The Radio Side: Things are a bit different on the radio. John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman, those are the names I kept seeing. Legendary stuff, apparently.
I tried to figure out if there was a set schedule for who announced which games, but honestly, it was kind of confusing. It seems like it might change depending on the day, or the series, or… who knows! I wish it was a little clearer.
But I’m happy with the basic knowledges that I got,I can enjoy the game next time better!

So, yeah, that was my little adventure for today. Nothing super complicated, but I learned something new. And now, when I watch the Yankees, I’ll at least have a better idea of who’s talking to me!
