Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with creating a depth chart, specifically for the Louisville Cardinals. I’ve always found it kinda tricky to keep track of all the players and their positions, so I figured, why not build something myself?

First, I needed to find a good source of information. I started by searching for “Louisville Cardinals Football Roster”. The official team website is usually a safe bet, so I headed there.
Gathering the Players
Once on the site, I located the roster page. It was nicely organized, listing all the players by name, number, and position. I started copying this information. I initially tried to just copy and paste the whole table, but that got messy, so I decided to do it player by player, which was kind of a pain.
- Opened a new spreadsheet.
- Created columns for “Name,” “Number,” “Position,” and “Class.”
- Manually inputted the data for each player. It took a while!
Organizing by Position
After I had all the names in, it was time to actually build the depth chart. I sorted the spreadsheet by the “Position” column. This grouped all the quarterbacks together, all the running backs, and so on. Then, within each position group, it get tricky.
I don’t Really know all player’s real * I created additional columns like “Depth 1,” “Depth 2,” “Depth 3” and so on, then i can put them in right place.
Making it Look Decent
It’s still super basic, but at least it’s organized! To make it a little easier to read, I also add differnt colors to them.

This was a fun little project. It definitely took longer than I expected, especially the manual data entry. there must be some better ways to do it, I might look into that later. But for now, I’ve got a working Louisville depth chart that I can easily update and refer to. Go Cards!
