Alright, so the clock was ticking towards 7 PM, GMT minus four. Had this thing marked on my calendar for weeks, you know? Something I really didn’t want to miss. Felt like I’d been waiting ages for it.

Getting Ready
So, maybe fifteen minutes before, I started getting things sorted. Went over to the computer, woke it up. Checked the internet connection – seemed okay, lights were blinking like they should. Pulled up the program I needed. Everything looked good to go. Grabbed a glass of water, sat down, figured I was all set for 19:00 sharp.
The Moment Arrives… And Fails
Watched the clock hit 7 PM exactly. Clicked the button to join, or log in, or whatever it was. And then… nothing. Just a spinning wheel. You know the one. Waited a bit. Still spinning. Okay, weird. Tried clicking again. Now I got some error message. Just gibberish, really, codes and stuff. Didn’t help me one bit.
This is where it gets annoying. Why does this always happen right when you need it? Five minutes earlier, everything’s fine. Five minutes later, probably fine too. But right on the dot? Nope. Computer decides it’s nap time.
Trying Stuff
So, what do you do? Started the usual routine:
- Closed the program, opened it again. Nope.
- Restarted the whole computer. That took ages, of course. By the time it was back up, I’d already missed the start.
- Tried logging in again after the restart. Same stupid spinning wheel.
- Checked the internet again. Went and unplugged the router, waited 30 seconds, plugged it back in. Watched the lights slowly come back on.
- Went back to the computer. Success? Nope. Still couldn’t get in.
Started wondering if the problem was even on my end. Maybe their server was overloaded? Everyone trying to get in at exactly 19:00 GMT-4? Possible. But still frustrating sitting there, clicking like an idiot.

Giving Up (Almost)
At this point, maybe 20 minutes had passed. Missed the whole introduction, probably the important bits. Thought about just packing it in. What’s the point joining late? But I’d waited, so figured I’d give it one last shot. Tried using my phone instead of the computer. Used the cellular data, not even the Wi-Fi.
And guess what? It worked. Instantly. Loaded right up. Figures, right? The computer, the main setup, fails completely. The tiny phone screen saves the day. Watched the rest of it on there, squinting a bit. Better than nothing, I suppose. But the whole experience starting right at 19:00 GMT-4? A complete mess, honestly. Just reminded me you can plan all you want, technology finds a way to mess it up.
