Alright, let’s talk about Week 4 and Josh Reynolds. I remember sitting down on Saturday night, looking over my fantasy football team, trying to figure out who to start.

Reynolds was one of those guys right on the edge for me. You know the type. Sometimes he shows up, gets you double-digit points. Other times, it’s like he wasn’t even playing. Frustrating.
Leading up to Week 4, I’d been tracking his usage a bit. Saw he was getting some looks, decent number of snaps with the Lions. The matchup didn’t look terrible on paper either. I kept going back and forth. Should I risk it? Or go with someone supposedly ‘safer’ who usually gets me like, 6 points?
- Checked some stats from previous weeks.
- Thought about Detroit’s offense, how Goff spreads it around.
- Considered who they were playing against.
It’s always a gamble with these WR3 types. You’re basically hoping for a touchdown or maybe one long catch to make the start worthwhile. It’s not like starting a stud like Jefferson or Chase where you just lock them in and don’t think twice.
So, Sunday morning rolls around. Still hadn’t made my final decision. Had my coffee, checked the injury reports one last time. No major news that changed things drastically. In the end, I just kind of shrugged and put Reynolds in my flex spot. Felt like a bit of a gut call, honestly.
Game Time Decision & Watching
Then the games started. I wasn’t glued to the Lions game specifically, had the main TV on RedZone, flipping through highlights. But I kept checking my fantasy app, you know how it is. Refresh. Refresh again.

Saw Reynolds get a target early on. Okay, good start. Then another catch. Points started trickling in. Wasn’t a massive explosion right away, but it was steady. Avoided the dreaded zero points, which is always the first hurdle cleared when you take a chance on a guy like him.
It’s funny how you get invested. Suddenly, I’m paying way more attention every time the Lions have the ball, hoping Goff looks his way, especially in the red zone. You start doing the mental math – ‘Okay, if he gets one more catch for 10 yards…’ It’s ridiculous, but that’s part of the fun, I guess.
Thinking back, it reminds me of this time a few seasons ago. I started some random tight end because my starter was on a bye. Didn’t expect anything. Dude catches two touchdowns! Won me the week. You live for those moments, makes up for all the times your ‘gut feeling’ leads you straight to a 1.5-point performance.
The Outcome for Week 4
So, how did Reynolds finish up in Week 4? He actually did pretty well for me. Didn’t set the world on fire, but he delivered solid points. Way better than the ‘safer’ guy I almost started, who predictably got me about 5 points. Definitely a win for Team Gut Feeling that week.
It made me feel a bit better about having him on my roster. Showed he could produce even without being the top target. Doesn’t mean I’m blindly starting him every week now, gotta still play the matchups. But yeah, for Week 4, Josh Reynolds came through. Made that lineup decision feel pretty good after all the back-and-forth.
