Okay, so I wanted to get better at stiff-arming in NCAA 25. I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty terrible at it before. I’d always get tackled, and it was super frustrating.

So, I started by just messing around in practice mode. You know, just running the ball and trying to stiff-arm anyone who came near me. At first, I was just mashing the button, hoping for the best. That…didn’t work so well.
Timing is everything
Then I started paying closer attention to the timing. I noticed that if I waited too long, the defender would already be wrapped around me. Too early, and I’d just whiff completely.
- Experimented with different timings.
- Focused on the defender’s approach angle.
- Tried on different player.
I spent a good hour just running drills, focusing on hitting the stiff-arm button right as the defender was about to make contact. I also realized that the angle of the defender is key. If they’re coming straight at you, it’s easier to time. If they’re coming from the side, you gotta be quicker.
The Right Players
And it, you know, makes to choose a player who good at it.
After a while, I started to get the hang of it. I was breaking more tackles, getting more yards, and generally feeling like a boss. It’s still not perfect, and I definitely get stuffed sometimes, but it’s a HUGE improvement. I even managed to pull off a few stiff-arms that led to touchdowns! Those felt awesome.

All I can say is it is much better than last time I tried, so KEEP GOING!
