That MLB The Show 23, it’s a thing, ain’t it? My grandson, he’s always on about it. Says it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I don’t know about all that, but I do know it keeps him busy. And that’s good, keeps him outta trouble.
Now, he was tellin’ me somethin’ about this game. Somethin’ about playin’ with folks who ain’t even got the same machine as him. Crossplay, he called it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d see at the church, but what do I know? He says it means you can play with anyone, no matter what kinda game box they got. I say that’s great, the more the merrier, right?

Well, like I said, it’s this thing where you can play with anyone. He says there’s these things, Xbox and PlayStation, and they used to not get along. Like cats and dogs, you know? But now, with this MLB The Show 23 crossplay, they can all play together. It’s like a big ol’ family reunion, only with baseball. And my boy, he can play with his friend, and it doesn’t matter that they got different consoles. That’s nice.
My grandson says you can play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and even PlayStation 4. Now I don’t know what all those letters and numbers mean. I’ve never been good with those things. But he says that’s a good thing, means more people can play. And the more the merrier, I always say.
Playin’ Together is Good!
Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy things. We just had each other. And you know what? That was enough. We’d play outside ’til the sun went down, and we didn’t need no fancy game boxes to have fun. But times change, I guess. And if these young’uns can play together, even if they’re miles apart, well, that’s a good thing, I reckon.
It’s like when we used to have those big family dinners. Everyone would come, from near and far. We’d all sit around the table, eatin’ and laughin’. It didn’t matter if you were from the city or the country, we were all family. And that’s what this crossplay thing reminds me of. It’s like everyone’s sittin’ around the same table, even if they ain’t in the same room.

He also said somethin’ about cross-progression. That’s another one of them fancy words. I think it means your game stuff, whatever you earn in the game, you can keep it no matter where you play. So, if you start playing on your friend’s PlayStation, you still have all your stuff. It’s like carrying your favorite quilt from house to house. It’s always yours, no matter where you go.

It just makes you feel good inside. I just want my boy to be happy. And this game, it makes him happy. He loves his baseball and he loves this game.
