Okay, so I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 22, and let me tell you, getting the batting stances right for the legends is a whole thing. I wanted to share my little journey here, ’cause it was quite the ride.
First off, I jumped into the game, all excited to play with some of my favorite classic players. But something felt off. Their stances? They just weren’t doing it for me. It’s like, you see Babe Ruth up there, and you expect a certain… you know, Babe Ruth-ness to the way he stands.
So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I dug into the customization options, and boy, was that a rabbit hole. There are so many settings! You’ve got your hand position, your feet, the way the bat is held, the whole nine yards. It’s a lot to take in.
I started with the basics, trying to find some generic stances that were close enough. But “close enough” wasn’t cutting it. I wanted that authentic feel. So, I fired up some old game footage, you know, those grainy, classic clips of the legends in action. I spent hours watching these, pausing, rewinding, trying to get a good look at how these guys stood at the plate.
- Watched a ton of old footage. Seriously, more than I’d like to admit.
- Took notes like a madman. “Ruth’s hands higher,” “Aaron’s feet closer together” – my notebook looked like a crazy person’s diary.
- Tried to mimic those stances in the game, tweaking and adjusting until it felt right.
It was a lot of trial and error. I’d get one player’s stance down, then move onto the next, only to realize I had to go back and readjust the first one because something was slightly off. It was a back-and-forth kind of thing, but slowly but surely, I started seeing results.
The Results
After all that tinkering, I finally got the legends’ batting stances to a place where I was happy. It’s not perfect, mind you, but it’s pretty darn close. Now, when I play with these guys, it feels so much more authentic. It’s like they’ve been brought back to life in the game, you know?
So, yeah, that’s my little story about tweaking batting stances in MLB The Show 22. It was a bit of a grind, but totally worth it in the end. If you’re a stickler for detail like me, I highly recommend giving it a shot. It really adds a whole new level of enjoyment to the game.
